On May 13, 2024 Hampton Roots **** began to work on our backyard property. This work included the following, building the retaining wall, back fill, top soil, sod/seed, and skirt our front porch (this was started, rushed, and not secured in). I paid for most of the material plus delivery fee as well as paid the business 1/3 amount on May 13,2024. After numerous attempts to contact the business, the business owner, business co owner, as well as employee I have not received any response back until this morning June 19, 2024 via email with an updated invoice stating they completed the work and to pay the remaining balance when in fact, we have only half of a retaining wall, semi backfill with it falling into our neighbors property, the leveling, remaining backfill, top soil, seed/sod were all NOT completed, and the *** skirt for front porch has also not corrected. *** responded back that once they completed the agreed upon work I will pay them the remaining balance.

This is not true whatsoever. I can send original contract documents that we were hired to build retaining wall (thats complete), fill-in back wall with 60 yards of fill/soil that wasnt enough so I end up purchasing 60 yards more out of pocket that I havent gotten paid for (this is complete and she needs more, but do to none payment I didnt add anymore soil), we were suppose to do back porch deck skirt only, and customer approached one of my employees behind my back and told him to do the front deck skirt that we were not supposed to do. We also were hired to do an extension to the driveway, however due to no payment we stop going. I was never hired to seed or do front porch. I have proof of all this.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Please see attached estimate as well a invoice which indicates that the front porch pvc deck skirt (number 5 on the invoice) was to be completed which, was discussed with the owner before being hired and only discussed with the employee when the employee was at my home because he asked me to purchase the material to complete the front porch skirt. Additionally, the invoice states topsoil to spread on top of fill to help seed or sod root in to soil (number 3 on the invoice). I also have screen shot text message that the owner never provided soil and only backfill dirt which are two completely different services and I also purchased more upon owners request. Regarding the retaining wall, as shown in previous attached photos only half was completed (number 1 on the invoice). Lastly, the other required agreed upon landscape service was to level and grade our backyard also shown in previous attached photos that it was never leveled nor graded (number 2 on the invoice). I purchased majority of material including any additional material needed as well as Zelled money to the owner directly. To state that you did not get paid is a false accusation. The owner stated multiple times days his employees were coming to work then no showed. Informed me the employee would fix the pvc and he never came. If the work we agreed on is completed then the remaining balance will be paid. That is how a business transaction works not to be paid up front without work being completed.

In addition, the siding where we had previously had sod growing has been destroyed from your crews work and would like that to be repaired or reimbursed  for as well.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************
