This corporation services apartment buildings and its clear that they know that they can get away with sloppy work. Their washing machines constantly break down, they ruin clothes, and clothes never get cleaned despite either using good quality laundry products or running several cycles. Their dryers are just as bad as your clothes never fully dry despite them being in the machine for an hour at a time. Laundry time is now a completely irritating hassle, and this company does nothing to improve despite multiple complaints from multiple customers across multiple buildings.Hercules Response

I've had recurring problems with the Hercules' laundry card either not properly adding value to my card or inexplicably deducting value from my card. The last time I complained about such a problem, which involved $30, several service representatives all insisted that the problem was not in fact a malfunctioning kiosk, but me; that is, I had already added the value and was trying to "steal" more value.I've been a resident for nearly 30 years. I don't need to steal laundry money.Hercules does not provide either receipts or statements for its transactions, which are not normal business procedures. Miserable service. Cannot add value to card, cannot use phone app in laundry room, cannot reach customer service. Finally, after several tries (one in which the service agent dropped the call), I was told they don't know what's wrong and they won't send me a replacement card. Maybe -- in 24 to 48 hours, they couldn't say -- just maybe my car will work then. If not, I can always call them back.The worse part of this terrible service is that there is no choice. It's the only option. And it's worse than useless. I wish there were a rating lower than one star.Hercules Response

We have ***************************** my building. Last night, at 10 pm I started a wash. It took my money, and never started. Then, I go back down 40 minutes later try to start it again. I get an error, and it never starts and the machine locks. I call, they say a technician will be there shortly.I just called again, 12 hours later. They just said that they can put in a priority request now. But it can take ***** hours. My guess is that they don't actually have weekend service so they set up their customer service people to deal with angry customers until Monday rolls around.They instruct their customer service people to be dishonest. How could you tell someone that someone will be there shortly at 10pm on a Saturday? And then have no updates the next morning?Hercules Response

Horrible customer service. They've owed me a refund since last August, with no response. I've called, emailed and mailed the malfunctioning cards back by priority mail, still no response. Their machines aren't great either. But truly, the customer service is one of the worst I've ever seen.Hercules Response

Hercules is ripping off dryer users in my apartment building in **** Park, Queens. They advertise .70 per 15 mins. for the stacked dryers, but after the first 15 mins. the machines charge .70 for only 5 mins.! I reported the problem last night and demanded a refund. Today I got an email requesting an explanation. I am skeptical that they will resolve the problem and refund the money they illegally took from me and other users in my building. This company and their equipment needs to be investigated. They do not even deserve one star but it was the only way I could leave this review. ***********************Hercules Response

This company has a monopoly on apartment building laundry rooms and they do nothing to serve their customers to make using their machines convenient. Plus there is no option on their website to check your card balance. The only way is to check it at the machines which NEVER WORK. Calling **************** is a joke - you're getting people at their homes who couldn't care less about helping. The worst though are the broken dryers. Put your card in the machine, only to return 45 minutes later to find wet or damp clothes. The dryers never work and they do NOTHING to service them. Wash in warm water - you get cold. On and on.It's one of the biggest rackets going. Their trucks are all over *** and the machines NEVER WORK.If you need a card balance you have to check it in the laundry room - IF the machine works.I am so tired of calling these people. At least every either time I do laundry, I find wet clothes in the dryer.They should be investigated - the only way to get your money returned if you have a card balance, is to mail the card back to them. They must make a fortune collecting unused funds.If you're a building owner please consider an alternative.Hercules Response

We do offer refunds for your card and we do need the card back to provide the refund. There is newer technology out now that will let you use a phone app to start the machines and that you can see your balance online. It is my understanding that Hercules has a minimum dollar amount that has to be added to their laundry cards. One neighbour reported that when she purchased a new laundry card, the message she got was that at least $20 has to be put on it! Most everyone in my building are seniors and/or disabled on a fixed income. We don't have that kind of money! Also, we've been told that we have to use a credit or debit card to add money to Hercules cards. Why does this have to be SO hard? Hercules just installed machines in my building today and I don't want to use them with these hassles!Hercules Response
