I hired Andrew Smith of Paramount Painting to paint the shutters and doors of my house. We discussed this on the phone and I sent him pictures via text on 4/12/23. He quoted me a price of $950, 50% deposit required. I agreed. He sent me a contract via email which I agreed to and sent back to him. I do not have a copy of the contract because Mr. Smith has deleted it and I can no longer view it. I paid the 50% deposit of $475 via ***** on 5/1/23. Upon receipt of my $475 deposit, he stated he would put me on the schedule for July 24. This was delayed due to weather conditions. On 8/1/23 I received a call from Mr. Smith stating he would be able to paint the doors the next day. I mentioned the shutters and he said we did not agree to that. He yelled at me on the phone and used vile language, he accused me of trying to get work done for free. I explained that we had agreed on shutters and doors and he said we agreed on doors only. I told him I was going to have file a complaint against him and because of that he refuses to refund my deposit. He states my deposit is non refundable and the money I paid to him is being used to pay for his time drawing up the contract and talking to me on the phone. I texted him several times asking for a refund and he has blocked me so I am unable to communicate with him. I am simply seeking a refund of my deposit, the work was not done, he has never even been to my residence, I have never met him.Initial Complaint

Paid for the painting of 3 buildings. Paid the full amount of $5400. Little work was done and I don’t expect them to finish. I have signed contracts and copies of the cashed checks. I have pictures showing the the job wasn’t completed.Business response

This is false we came and worked on her project for a week painted all 3 building trim and aluminum siding we were to come back for a few hours and finish up but we are behind a lil bit with the rain and when I tried to call to let her know she spazed out on me saying I haven’t done anything and she’s taking me to court and all this stuff and now this she’s running around town telling everyone I took her money and didn’t do anything we literally are talking about a lil bit of touch ups here and she’s dragging my name through the mud I am currently putting in the paperwork to sue her for defamation because I’ve had people calling me on her behalf asking why I ripped her off this is so wrong I can’t even get over there to finish now and she’s slandering my name all around town!Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I'd like a refund for work not completed. I don't want them to come to my house again after threatening phone calls. I've added pictures to show areas not completed and extremely sloppy workmanship. I've also attached the written contract.

I’m not refunding her all the money when I painted the house and there’s only a few hours to finish up there that is not fair and not right she’s not allowing me to come finish so therefore idk what else to do but I have receipts for the payroll I spent to do her house as well as for the materials I bought to do her project which equals out to the money she gave me
