I gave the company a check deposit of $750 for work in Jan 2024. Within the week Jan 12 2024, I cancelled the job. I text ****** and he promptly called me. He said it would take time for me to get a refund. He had to get the money back from the parts people, then have his father write a check and mail it to me from *******. A month later Feb 13 2024, no check. I text him and he said "his Dad mailed it from ******* I would have it by the weekend. March 6, no check, I text again he said" OMG I a so sorry, I will call my Dad right now." March 15 he said "I will drop the check off to you when I get back from *******, sorry for the delay, I'll put it in your mailbox." March 27, no check he said "I don't understand my nephew was dropping it off can I meet with him after 4 at my home ion Monday.' I agreed he never showed up. he said" he was in ******* getting his fathers chemo treatment.. Then nothing. I called the office 4/10/24, the receptionist ******** called me back and asked me to be patient, that the father was 78 years old and the mother has dementia and assured me that the check was mailed and to call them when I got it. May 2nd 2024 I called no check. Now I get no response and I have been blocked. I have all of this in text and voice mails.Customer response

At this time, I have not been contacted by Top to Bottom Chimney Cleaners, Inc. regarding complaint ID ********. I continually call then one a week.

11/2020 ***** from Top to Bottom chimney services *********************************************************************************** by ********** was paid $675 cash to replace 3 fireplace -firebox walls in a 23 year old fireplace that was still perfectly usable.The material used crumbled and the cement cracked within 3 weeks of work after carefully following their 48 hour waiting period and then building low heat fires the first weeks use.I have text communications with company acknowledging the issue that was reported within three weeks of job. They came one time to inspect, left without doing anything including not sweeping chimney or replacing chimney cap which was promised would be done. After being patient with weather excuses, the birth of a child they had, more weather delays , then winter came, NOTHING was ever done and our repeated calls and messages remain ignored/unreturned.Business response

My father and I have been in business almost 30 years. We pride ourselves on the fact that we treat all our customers with dignity and respect. I completed every bit of work that I wrote on the contract at ******************** house for a significantly reduced price. ****************** wanted additional work done which I did not deem safe for myself because he has a very high roof with little accessibility to the chimney. The information printed in the top left corner is not my writing. That is ********************. My office returned every phone call of his, and my work is done at his house. I will not put myself in jeopardy of being injured for a job that I have told ****************** repeatedly is not safe for me.
