  We hired Irish Sweeps Chimney to reline and repoint our chimney on 10/16/23. We paid them $2,900 plus a $100 tip. The job was never finished. They never repointed our chimney even though we paid for it in full up front with cash. We contacted the company for a partial refund and theyve refused and stopped returning our phone calls. We contacted them 3 times about this issue, the most recent date being today, December 12, 2023

  To Whom it May ************************ complaint number ********, we here at Irish Sweeps Chimney Ltd. completed an estimate and inspection for *********************** on October 16, 2023 at *************************************************** for masonry repair and complete relining of the chimney at this residence. Irish Sweeps Chimney Ltd. received no payment or compensation for any work at this residence. Our company was not hired to do any work at this residence. We simply gave the customer an estimate.

  The statement provided by Irish Sweeps Chimney is not entirely correct. As stated in my initial complaint, I called Irish Sweeps Chimney and they sent two of their employees to my house to assess the issue. At that time we were told that our chimney needed emergency repairs. The employee stated they had other service calls to attend to but would be back later in the day to fix our chimney. Those same two employees did come back to re-line and re-point our chimney, however were unable to finish the job. We paid in full in cash and they promised to be back within the next few days to finish the job. They left without giving us a receipt, and never came back.

  In trying to settle this matter directly with the company, the owner, ***, insisted that his employee was not acting on behalf of Irish Sweeps Chimney when he took our money. *** said that this employee was acting independently. However, we did not agree to any individual performing work on our home. We hired Irish Sweeps Chimney, they sent this man to our house, and he took money from us without finishing the service. If at any point he stopped acting on behalf of the company he works for, he did not communicate that to us and we had no reason to assume he was acting independently.
