I hope this post helps others when buying a vehicle from Empire Toyota Empire(Huntington, **). In September 2022 my 68 year old mother was making her first brand new vehicle purchase and unfortunately decided to use this dealership. Due to my residence being in ******* I was only able to be on the phone to make sure she wasnt overcharged by what I call junk protection asset protection and/or incentives. We were very specific on absolutely no extra protection and just wanted the vehicle at the sales price. The salesman completely understood and said of course, so he "took off" 2 different extras they had added on. Fast forward 2 years, my mother calls me asking if she needs to renew a service contract she received in the mail. I reviewed her dealership documents and notice they had in fact made her sign without her knowledge 2 service agreements. They are both junk service contracts, a vehicle asset protection and total loss protection totaling $1990.00. Looking at the vehicle purchases agreement, the $1990 was added to "other aftermarkets" not the "dealership installed equipment and services". After speaking to multiple associates from the dealership, each had a different story on these charges, One stated she didn't even have this coverage according to their system, another said these are given away for free typically and finally ***** the manager, stated this was going to be charged no matter what. The $1990 was an upcharge and they gave her these services mainly to meet internal contract quotas. I feel these are very unethical practices which are taking place at this dealership and needs to be looked into to protect future buyers . Ive filed a complaint with Toyotas **************** regarding these type of deceiving practices at Empire Toyota of Huntington, ***** an ironic twist, the renewal notice she had received in the mail was just an extended warranty offer from a random company.**Ill repost here once I have a resolution
