I used Elmore Enterprise for snow removal of 2 rental properties. Since November 2021 through January 14th, 2022, the company charged me 22 times (times 2 properties) to shovel the sidewalk/driveways. The total charge was $1,520.54. Up until the storm on January 17th, our area received less that 2-3 inches of snow in total. The actual 'snow' events were dustings that may have be viewed on the grass but not sidewalks. At least 11-15 events did not need shoveling or salt. I actually was present 2x's at my property at Falls Street where Elmore came a threw down salt when it was not necessary, and then charged $25 &/or $39. Elmore over services which resulted in overcharging. I am not disputing that Elmore came to the property but I do not believe that they needed to salt or shovel. Also due to the continuous use of rock salt (when it was not needed), I will have to repaint the both porches for a cost of $500. I have found a new provider. I was charged at least $750 more (probably closer to $1,000) than should have been billed.Business response

As a returning customer, we were surprised to hear of your concern regarding over-servicing of your properties. As we explained to you in our email on 1/14/22, for liability issues, we shovel and/or salt the sidewalks if any snow or ice is present to minimize slip and fall risk. This means that even if the sidewalk is only wet, but the temperature is forecasted to drop below freezing, we apply deicing material to prevent ice. Although there hadn’t been much in terms of accumulating snow prior to the large storm on January 17th, there were many days of trace snowfall/freezing which could cause hazardous conditions.When we received notice from you on 1/19/22 that you were cancelling our services, we decided to not bill you for the services that had been rendered on 1/17 and 1/18 (a total of three visits for each property) as a concession to your displeasure with our company. We have 22 other properties that we maintain sidewalks for that we have received no complaints from and have received feedback from them that they are quite happy with our services. Our main priority with sidewalk snow removal services is to prevent slip and fall injuries. We’re sorry that your priorities are not in alignment with ours and wish you the best of luck with your current provider.
