      I broke my cell phone screen, a ******* Note 20 ULTRA, on 08/03/21. I am not working now, so I had to wait to save up some money to get it fixed. On 11/18/2021, I sent my husband to fix my phone at the same facility that fixed his phone screen. He was happy with the quality of his repairs, so I figured I would not have any issues using his repair person. I was wrong. My husband brought my phone to ***** at Digital Repair to fix the screen. ***** told my husband he could not fix my phone screen for the $250 he previously fixed his phone because it is currently difficult to get the parts. ***** charged $400 to fix my phone, and my husband agreed to the increased price. ***** kept the phone overnight and returned it to us on 11/19/21.The phone screen worked for less than 24hrs.On 11/20/2021, the screen went completely black; however, the device still worked because I could receive notifications. We called ***** on 11/21/21 to explain that the screen was defective. He asked us to bring in the phone on 11/22/21 to take a look. On the 22nd after trying to fix the phone screen, ***** gave up, refusing to replace the defective screen with a working one and refusing to refund our money. When I called him later that evening to express my concern, he argued that he did not warrant the phone after leaving his shop. I argued that he is not entitled to keep my money because he either used a defective part or a shoddy repair job.Further, I explained that he would have an implied warranty as a merchant selling a good (a phone screen) and an implied warranty to provide good workmanship. He still refused to return our money or fix the phone. I am writing to open this complaint because ***** is a thief. I am currently in law school and do not work, so $400 was hard to come by and even harder to lose. I am frustrated because I was finally able to fix my broken phone screen after three months, only to be in the same position that I was before.
