I am was former Allen student and I went into internship with so much enthusiasm and eager to learn. I made a mistake (which interns are liable to make ) and I got put on probation. After I was put on probation the intern site was very rude and disrespectful towards me and other interns . I emailed Allen school to place me at another site and they refused due to be being on probation. The intern site has told us that we have to use the same bathroom as patients , we get degraded and embarrassed infront of patients and they talk to us like nothing. I have not learned anything new from my internship and I have stated that numerous times in the emails I sent . Fast forward to about 1 month later ( 4 months since Ive been at internship). It is very hard finding parking and Ive accumulated over $2,000 in parking tickets . *** told the office manager that maybe I can show my face to show Im here and then find parking but she declined. So I was about 10 minutes late and the office manager told me go home and had me sign a paper of recognition for being sent home. I explained to her parking is very hard and she said well its your internship not mine me n the office manger exchange vulgar words and that resulted to me being kicked out of the Allen school. I told them numerous times I have to walk on eggshells at the intern site and I tried avoiding any conflict . Now Allen stated I cant get my certification and all my money and times was wasted . The Vice President of academics didnt even let me in on the phone conversation and or hear my side . I had only 2 weeks left to finish my internship .

Due to privacy rules and in preparation for potential legal action that the complainant has threatened, I am limited to what I can say in this response.

Because the Allen School of Health Sciences graduates will be entering the healthcare field, they are held to a high level of professionalism in the classroom and internship site to prepare them to meet the expectations of potential employers. Students are required to demonstrate not only clinical competency, but also professional and ethical behavior in the presence and care of patients, doctors, instructors, staff, and peers. On several occasions, the former student displayed extremely unprofessional behavior to both clinic personnel as well as the school administrative staff.

The student/intern is responsible for parking/transportation.  The internship site and the school bear zero responsibility for her parking tickets or inability to arrive on time ready to work due to not leaving enough time for parking.

The Vice President of Academic Affairs offered to have a verbal conversation with the student, but the student failed to request a meeting. If you wish to speak on the phone, I have availability on Friday morning is the exact wording of an email which we have retained along with all other email and text communication.

We do not take decisions like this lightly.  The Allen School has been in operation since 1961.  We are licensed by the New ************************************** of *********** School Supervision and the *******************************************************.  We are nationally accredited by the Commission of the Council on ********************** and regulated by the ****************** of **************** Our Executive Team, with over 60 years of combined experience dealing with hundreds of internship sites and thousands of students at Allen School, conducted a thorough review of the events before making this decision.  The students behavior violated the schools Code of Conduct policy which is clearly stated in our catalog and because of this, she was dismissed.
