The crew at John's Tree Service was very thorough and efficient. The machinery they used was top notch and got my trees down safely in no time at all. I was very impressed and I highly recommend! Will definitely be using them again.Review from Kristen V

Kristen V. 1.0 star rating I do not recommend John's Tree Service I don't ever write reviews but since this is about my elderly father, and this service can affect other vulnerable people, I feel I must post. My 85 year old father used this service to remove a tree from his front yard in May of 2022. My father paid $1,890 up front, before the completion of the full job. The tree was cut down, and the check was cashed. This tree service left behind though, 5 large logs, a pile of sawdust from some of the stump they grinded, the remainder of the stump, and some branches. My father called the office at least 4 times asking for the company to finish their job. My father talked with John on one occasion, who told my father they were busy but would return when they had time. My father was still a customer and should have been put on their schedule for them to finish the job. No one ever returned to clean up the mess. My father then wrote a letter to the company to remind them that the mess is still there but they still didn't return. My father took the company to small claims court in January or February of 2023. No one from John's Tree Service even bothered to show. On March 3, 2023, the judge found in favor of my father, indicating that John owes my father $640. John has still not paid my father. I am disgusted that someone took advantage of my father, and from other reviews, my father is not the only one. Has anyone else got the money John owed them as decided by the courts, and if so, how did you get the money? We have an option of contacting the licensing agency. Just an FYI, I've seen John or someone from his company responding to some negative reviews by basically blaming the customer. I think that is extremely immature and done in poor taste. instead, accept responsibility and offer to make things right.Review from Bob F

The worst experience I’ve ever had. Hired to grind 2 stumps and level out yard w landscape to fill holes and plant grass. Excuses galore: “tree grinder is a school teacher and only available on some Friday’s or when school’s off”, wasted weeks blaming weather and equipment breakage, When questioned why top soul was filled with small and medium sized rocks, John said it was because the bed of his truck had rocks from a pre hits job and got mixed in. So now I have every area that he did touch, filled with rocks. Danger to our dogs. These guys may be fine for tree services, but landscapers? No. Hire for that at your own risk. Suggest asking for a solid written proposal with protective language.John's Tree Service & Landscaping Inc. Response

I would like to start by apologizing about your experience. John's Tree Service has been in constant communication with your wife and we have had recent communication with you via email. As stated in the recent emails, we had told your wife to please let us know how to grass is growing in a few weeks because we would be happy to come back and put fresh top soil to ensure the grass grows. Also stated in the email was that those rocks were not there when we initially left your property, your wife even looked everything over prior to us leaving and getting paid for the job. After communicating with you on the same day that this review was written, it was explained that we would honor our word as landscapers and come back to your property with fresh soil and you responded with the following: "I appreciate your willingness to come back and address these issues. Unfortunately, Mel is working while all of us here at the house are sick with ear infections. I will have he contact you via email in a coupe days to schedule something." Therefore, we are currently waiting for you to contact us to schedule a time so we can come fix anything as we discussed. John's Tree Service values feedback from customers to ensure we are doing a great job- whenever we hear from customers that they are not completely satisfied with our services, we always make every effort to address any issues and ultimately guarantee our customers are happy. As you know, we are currently working with you to ensure your satisfaction with our services as well so a negative review while we are waiting to hear from you to schedule a time to come back to your property is a misrepresentation and unjustifiably inaccurate.Review from Anne C

Horrible. I would leave 0 Stars if i could. Don't know how he is accredited by BBB. I hired John Lobevero - aka John's Tree Service & Landscaping Inc. to remove trees on my property. He came, started work, then his equipment broke down. As I already (stupidly) paid for the job, he said he would return next day or latest a few days, to complete job. HE NEVER RETURNED. After 2yrs of emails, calls, and texts that got me nowhere, I filed and won Judgement against him. HE REFUSES TO PAY THAT ALSO. YOU DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU. BEWARE! Also, see **** reviews. Many, many bad reviews that were on **** & his own website are now mysteriously gone...!? Hmmmm.. There are many other reputable services out there.John's Tree Service & Landscaping Inc. Response

Hi ****- Let me start out by stating that this response is a clarification and explanation of what happened while doing business with you, rather than me not taking responsibility. Over 2 years ago I was hired to take down half of a tree. After starting the work you then wanted the entire tree taken down. After removing half of the tree, as you had originally hired me for, your neighbor approached you and my crew, claiming that the tree that you wanted me to completely cut down was the neighbor’s tree, not yours. After you and your neighbor got into an altercation about whose tree it is, your neighbor called the police. I informed you before you paid me that I was not taking down any more of that tree because of the uncertainty of whose tree it is, and I did not want your neighbor to end up suing you or I if it is in fact the neighbor’s tree. You are correct that one of my trucks broke down in your driveway; however, it was repaired that same day. Furthermore, there were 2 limbs that you wanted trimmed over your shed that I had not trimmed since the police arrived and as I stated at the time, I did not want to be in the middle of a civil suit. In regards to court- you filed a claim against me for a refund of the full amount you paid me, even though you were happy to pay me at the time since the job was 90% completed. The judge honored me 3 business days to go to your property and complete the job by trimming the 2 limbs. That day in court my lawyer informed you that I would be at your home on that following Monday and you agreed. When I arrived at your home, you refused to allow me on your property. When we went back to court, the judge honored you with a judgement for a partial payment, acknowledging substantial completion of the job. This judgement was dated January 10th, 2023, and I legally have 30 days to pay the judgement; however, you posted your review prior to the 30 days succeeding the filing date of the judgement. Feedback is important to us, as we rely on hearing from our customers to ensure we are doing a great job. As you shared in your review, this was not the case for you and for this we do apologize; although, it is quite disingenuous to claim that I did not make multiple efforts to satisfy my obligations and complete the work you paid me for. Moreover, your statements are deceitful, especially considering you did not allow me 30 days before you began slandering my business on multiple occasions.Customer Response

John, you did Not make multiple attempts. You weren’t even there at the first hearing. Didn’t bother to show up. As I stated before your attorney was there and after he asked for a postponement from the Judge so he could talk w you, & he strongly advised my husband & I, to NOT have you come back & settle this monetarily. You emailed me the night b4 when you, all of a sudden, wanted to come & complete work while this case was still being heard before Judge. Of course I said “No”. And where were you for 2yrs prior? It took a Court hearing. And no- the Judge didn’t give you $$ for 3days of work. From evidence & testimony He clearly new you only showed up the first time. As I expected, your response has twisted the truth to your satisfaction. Not Even Close. I placed my review based on facts John and that is not deceitful or slander-it was an honest review…and let’s not forget that you told me to “Yes proceed”, in response to my email asking for arrangements of payment of Judgment -& that I would have to proceed if not paid. Whatever John. I have a life and better things to do than chase your “explanations” & responses. I will tell you that to your response here, & to any other review, watch your words. Carefully. I have an attorney too. And I’m not afraid to use her. Oh, and it’s it February 7th. Judgement still not paid.
