He came up again after calling several times and hook up charging system, battery died again.  I bought new battery $150.00 an he had hooked it up wrong killing battery again, after calling several times with no answer I called ****** district manager and they sent up a local dealer named ***.         This unit is an off grid unit with no way to charge the battery except when the generator is running. I had discussed this with the homeowner at the time we did the quote and a solar battery tender was provided by us to keep the generator charged. During the install, I informed the customer that we need to mount the solar charger somewhere and the decision was made to mount the charger on the roof of the generator. Given the customers remote location and the lack of sun during the winter months, the solar charger we had originally provided was not strong enough to maintain the battery during a long run in the dark. We returned to the site and provided a much larger and more expensive solar charger which the customer requested to be moved to the front of the generator. I provided a new battery at that time and wired the onboard charger to be active when the generator was running. While we were closed for the holidays the customer experienced another issue where the connection I had made with the onboard charger had come loose causing the battery to fail again. I received his messages when we reopened after the holiday and by that time he had contacted another dealer who reconfigured his system another way. Given that we had not charged the customer for the larger solar charger, extra trip to swap the charger, and spare battery we used. I did not see it necessary to pay for the other dealer's bill. I was not given an opportunity to properly troubleshoot and correct any issues that had arisen. As far as replacing the panels that were drilled the decision to mount the originalpanel on the roof was a mutual one and the panel was moved to the front door only because of the customer's request. I am sorry his issue arose during a time when I was unavailable. Had I been provided an opportunity to troubleshoot and correct the issue I could have saved him money. If the solar charger has been removed the battery will die again if no one is there to run the generator and his issues will continue. This unit needs an external power source to keep the battery charged when the generator is not running. Please let me know if you need more information.Brian D*********Owner,Adirondack Generators###-###-####Ext. 102 OR ###-###-#### (Direct)****************************** ***************************** 164 Harrison St, Johnstown NY 12095
