On 1/24/23 I took my cat to Kenmore Animal Hospital for a Rabies vaccination and to have his sinus infection evaluated. I did get some antibiotics but no rabies shots. Instead, I was told one of his eyes might 'rupture' so Dr. H****** recommended eye pressure tests. Of course his eye pressures were normal. I was also told he was in pain so they wanted to give him Meloxicam which is potent NSAID reserved for operations such as setting bones, fixing torn soft tissue, spays and neuters. It is also potentially dangerous for the kidneys. I did not know any of this at the time so i agreed. She only explained that it would be best to give him a sub Q fluid administration to help prevent kidney damage. This NSAID only lasts for about 48 hours so it was a waste since he was not in pain and it was potentially dangerous. Sinus infections are little more than a nuisance. I have since had him evaluated by my new vet and he found all systems within normal ranges, including the eyes. Also, I had a 7 am appointment which they had no record of. My cat was finally seen at 7:44 am. Dr. H****** also gave out my contact info to a third party selling a immune system booster without my consent, which is illigal. Now i'm getting calls and emails from them trying to get me to purchase more of there product. Dr. H****** slipped a container in my take-home bag without explaining what it was or if i wanted it. I got charged $46.00 for it. Meloxicam - $34.00 Sub-Q - $57.00 VRS immno-5 - $46.00 Eye pressure test - $31.00 Personal time billed - 45 minute wait, 2 hours researching and filing complaints - $100.00 So i am asking for a total of $268 paid to me. If this is not satisfactory with KAH I will file a complaint with the AVMA, post my grievances online, and file a dispute with my credit card company. I have never lost a dispute yet and this one will be one on the easiest to win yet. It's their choice, lose now or lose even bigger later. Thanks for your help in this matter.
