I hired these movers who stole my our ******** ****** gaming system. They also are charging me for $521 that they didn't state they charged me in the email they sent me.

      Business response

      11/27/2023

This customer has already previously received and accepted the missing item "******** ******" and claimed this item was over $3000, that was not forthright.

Prior to moving: this customer received and accepted a written price quote with a full 8-10 hour day including a written itemized payment schedule, this customer was in total control of the time and cost during the entire service and continued to add to the time and add service throughout the day. At no time did this customer express any concern over the time or cost.

Further: this customer was not  available the morning of service causing the job start time to be delayed at her cost and additionally was not prepared, packed properly or organized properly causing delay at her time. During the service: this customer was informed of the total price cost at 12pm halfway through and accepted the charge- and the price cost at completion and accepted the charges. The charges were itemized in the written quote and a written payment schedule several days prior to any service and processed through bank software and time tracking software which this customer accepted with identification for the payments in person.

This customer authorized the service and the amounts in this complaint.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I do not believe this company should be in business though, as they literally stole from me.

      Regards,

A deposit was made on November 5, 2021 in the amount of $218. for moving services. My brother passed away November 3rd and I needed to clean out his small apartment of 650 sq. ft. Most of his furnishings I was getting rid of and moving consultant at Ashline told me that since they hold a permit to dump in the landfill, that it was no problem. The only things I was moving into storage were my brother's paintings. I was quoted $2,900. Of course this is a lot of money, but I realized that they had to drive the paintings 2 1/2 hours to a storage unit near me in Westwood. To make a long story short: The men showed up late and took a cigarette break every time they brought a box down to the truck. They left my brothers apartment a mess, they said they would take all the furniture and rugs. Everything is still there. The building manager sent pictures as they lied to her. They CHARGED ME THE ORIGINAL QUOTED PRICE, AND THEN TWO OTHER TIMES WITHOUT TELLING ME TOTALLY $5,900!!!!! They literally threw my brother's works of art into the storage unit. They cracked a $500 frame. I tried to reach them about the additional charges on my card and the owner started laughing. I did think it was weird that he told me he often has to fight for payment from credit card companies, but he already had my paintings on the truck.

On 11/5/21 Ms ***** contacted our sales rep for a consultation on removing several “a few items” to the landfill and packing approximately 75-100 small pictures that were “nothing of value” all on a recorded line. She was quickly provided an itemized estimate invoice showing the exact scope of work for such a disposal/pack service along with the terms of payment which she accepted an Informed Consent prior to any scheduling and submitted a credit card as a method of payment under these terms, Ms ***** received documented receipts for this on 11/6/21. Upon arrival the day of service 11/16/21 it was immediately discovered that there was an enormous amount of rubbish inside the dwelling and several hundred paintings included several walk in closets and storage rooms and further the dwelling was loaded with rat excrement (all documented with video and still photos). Ms ***** would not even attempt to go inside the dwelling, she sat downstairs near the entrance. We showed Ms ***** the videos and still pictures and explained to Ms ***** this was not the job she represented and she admitted she had no idea there was this amount of rubbish and/or paintings. We explained to her that we could do what she originally ordered and she asked if we could provide as much of this clean up as possible. We consulted with our team onsite and came up with a plan to remove most of the rubbish and with a feasible timeline and landfill costs: Ms ***** accepted these terms and pricing in "expressed written consent” and paid in present with a credit card. At no time did anyone say or mention we had trouble collecting we just didn’t  trust Ms ***** and we were being told conflicting stories about the dynamics of this job which are all documented.
We provide exceptional solid service at a completive price unfortunately there are dishonest people who are not forthright and that is totally the case here. In the end Ms ***** received the exact service she requested and directed.

      Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Obviously, I would never have agreed to paying this company $2,900 to move “a few little things”. Ashline said, “no problem” and boasted that he was the only mover with a landfill permit. Again, we are talking about an apartment 650 squ ft in size.
Again, he is lying about everything, the fact of the matter is he agreed to do a job, his employees would rather smoke pot and take breaks than complete the job. I refuse to pay for a service that was not complete.  I now have to hire a legitimate company to complete this  as can be seen in the photos I provided.Again, I should have know from the get go when he said he has to fight to get paid, that this is not a situation unfamiliar to his company. When I called him to resolve the matter, he was rude and laughed. This is no laughing matter.

      Regards,

      ***** ***** Disposal Job

It is always with regret for us as a business when any customer is not completely satisfied, although service complaints are subjective and in many cases opinion based we can not argue with a packing slip and landfill ticket, packing slips and weigh tickets don't lie. We make ourselves 100% available to every customer: before, during and after any service we provide, this project was difficult and the customers own images provided herein demonstrate the unsanitary and the arduous nature of this job subsequently which was never conveyed to us until after we arrived. Our scheduling protocol allows the opportunity for clients to adjust the scope under which an order is scheduled to avoid such disorganization. In this rare case the client did not know the job entailed an enormous amount and as further demonstrated in the customers own images. We encourage the customer to contact us if there is any adjustments we can provide other than the landfill portion, however our staff and office does not engage in disparaging conversation, it would have to be friendly.

      Sincerely yours
