      Making it extremely difficult to cancel gym membership. Owner stated that it would take 30 days via certified mail and the mail in address was the same location that I was currently at. Ridiculous practices, the gym itself is filthy and the machinery is broken and thereby dangerous to exercise on. I refuse to be charged an additional month despite not utilizing the gym. It is theft to charge when the desire to cancel was clearly expressed and made to be a drawn out and difficult process.

      Please see original agreement where customer signed the cancellation policy which is clearly outlined in bold letters on the front of agreement. NOT hidden in back or in fine print.

      As far as the gym itself, there is NOT 1 broken piece of equipment, nor is the facility filthy. If that was the case he wouldn't have been a member for 3 years & we wouldn't be in business at this location for nearly 25 years.. He's obviously saying those things because he doesn't like the policy that he agreed to and signed for. To date he still has not requested to cancel his membership.

      Hello, I signed up to this gym (******* ******* of Lynbrook) years ago. I have been charged monthly just fine for years. When the pandemic hit I called the gym to ask to cancel my account as I had no idea what was happening but i did not feel safe going to the gym during a pandemic. They advised me to email **************************************************** & that i could just pause the account instead of losing benefits that come with canceling. I went ahead & emailed ***** asking for a pause on my account (email attached) . I never heard from them again stating they will resume billing on all accounts. I have not been back since. fast forward to today 3/23/23 I receive a call from a collections agency asking me to pay $253.95 that is owed tot he gym. I explained to them i have no idea why i would owe them this money & that no one from Synergy has reached out to me to tell me that the pause is resumed ******* will be charged. I tried calling Synergy & spoke with ***** ************* told me she has no record any contact with ******* membership as it was so long ago. I asked how do I owe you money if you cant even find my information. I asked for information on when I was being charged again She said she has no answers for ****** need to contact whoever just called me from collections. I Have no idea if this collection agency is legitimate. If i signed a contract with Synergy of Lynbrook why can they not give me any information about my account. but send me to a collection agency? ***** stated she doers not have the information for the billing or collection agency they use. I understand each fitness center is privately owned. I believe Lynbrook is scamming their customers to pay for monthly charges without proper communication of what & when we will be charged. No one has ever reached out to me to state that my membership is overdue, late etc. When you call they have no answers.

      Canceled gym membership via email and mail and was still being charged. Had to cancel payments through my bank. They now sent me to collections. I have never missed payments on any of my accounts and they are bullying to continue a membership just to get money from me

      I joined Synergy Fitness in Lynbrook, ** along with my son (minor) at the time. During Covid when the gym was closed, my account was frozen and resumed when the facility reopened. Today, a received a letter (final attempt) advising my son to contact Rise ******** to discuss his account or the account would be sent to a collection agency. I immediately called Synergy Fitness after reading the letter and was told that my son's account is closed but my account is active. I checked my emails for any notifications of the same stated above but there was nothing. I never had any issues with the company in the past. I believed the facility's actions were unprofessional and unnecessary. The facility has been provided with my contact number and email address.

      Tried to cancel membership several times. Went INTO the gym and they still told me to provide a certified letter to cancel all the while still charging me the monthly fee.
