Last year, we hired Empire State Masonry to put in a stamped, poured concrete patio, and I would not recommend them. The utilities were all marked when they started the job, and they were the ones that had them marked. Instead of leaving room for the phone lines to be put back properly, they poured right up to the garage and hung the lines on the garage wall. They also broke the fence, did not follow the specs from the HOA, and did not clean up after themselves. After repeated calls, emails, and text messages, they did not respond to fix the project. Jeff, the owner, had sent a number of text messages saying he was sending someone to fix the issues but never did. The patio did not make it through the winter, and there are spots that are disintegrating. When I tried to reach back out to them to fix the issues, I found out they have relocated out of the area and now go by ********** ****** *********

We contracted with Empire for a backyard patio in October of 2022. They did the work in April of 2023. They were helpful with the layout design but before the concrete was fully dry we noticed significant cracking in 4 different locations. Jeff was going to take core samples as it might be bad mix. Never happened, he did send a crew to cut out and repour 1 section. No crack on the new cement but it turned an orange brown color, very noticeable. That was last we saw of them, many times promised they would return and fix but never did. They will no longer even return emails. Lately have been hearing similar bad experiences with this company and have even heard they changed there name.

From the beginning to end it was very unprofessional. I staked out and roped off exactly where we wanted our patio for the quote. The owner (Jeff) measured the square footage and my wife and I told him his numbers seemed way off(too low). He remeasured and said his math must have been wrong. He also drew a sketch with the measurements at that time and said we were all set. Months later when it was time to do the work the crew showed up and asked where the patio was going. I asked if they had a sketch and measurements, they said they had nothing. During the prep of the patio they showed up late every day and left early. They would say they came from or had to get to another job. Stormed off the job the day the prep was supposed to be done(it wasn’t), blaming my neighbors kid of stealing his cell phone which was found later on top of his truck. A storm drain was ripped apart. I found the remnants in a pile and asked if it was going to get fixed. They tried to with duct tape and said they weren’t plumbers. Prep for the patio was rushed to a finish minutes before the concrete showed up. First crack in the patio came 3 weeks after they poured. Owner said it was because of a window well. During the quote he told me they dealt with window wells all the time and it wouldn’t be a problem. Less than a year later I have 7 separate cracks in my patio, and no reply from an email sent with my concerns. Price was right, but unprofessional in every sense, and below average work completed.

We had a stamped sidewalk installed and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. It’s beautiful. Every crew that came to work on it was extremely talented , very nice and did awesome work! We will definitely hire again when we decide to replace our patio next.

I give them a -1 Jeff O’Lena the owner had my deck concrete resurfaced by one of his workers last year, and it was done terrible, so Jeff came out and agreed, because he was so behind I agreed to wait til this Spring to have redone, which he was going to do himself, well April came and I started asking when, he said third week in May well it kept getting put off until June 11 when he had to young kids come right when it started pouring, they waited around snd did the work in between, this is after Jeff told me the rain can make the product wash away, so my husband told them to not walk on deck with their boots after because lady yr the worker did and we had to repaint the deck, they said we won’t , my husband asked if they were going to tape off the edging around pool due to it is white, they said no that they paint with brush around, well guess what, it’s now all covered in product and needs to be repainted again, and for the job itself, it’s 100 times worse then last year, not even the same color, there are white snd black spots all over probably due to the rain, it is awful, it needs to be all sanded off and start over, and then I went to message Jeff and he blocked me, I then messaged the business and told him how unhappy I was and that if he didn’t call me or come by I would call BBB and put pictures on social media, hi gave me the thumbs up, so I ask you, should they be a business owner, I’m so upset snd plan on taking them to small claims court Thank you
