On Tuesday May 17th 2022, I contacted City-Wide Testing to inquire about inspection services pertaining to an upcoming apartment renovation. I listed the precise inspections that we required, including sign off on a *** report (Tenant Protection Plan). Within an hour, they sent a proposal and offered to come out and inspect the property as soon as we sent a deposit. I CC'd our expeditor, who followed up about their services includein the *** report. Because we were on a deadline and believed they were trustworthy, I submitted the deposit. Asking again about the *** report, *** (City-Wide receptionist) promised having it by Wednesday (5/25) would not be a problem. When the inspector arrived, he was clearly unprepared. He had no special equipment, no computer, had not reviewed any architectural drawings, and was under the impression that construction had already begun (it could not until we had sign off on the special inspections and the *** report). Eventually, I lent him my laptop so he could look at the drawings. My understanding was that wed receive the report early the following week. On Monday May 23rd PM, I called City-Wide Testing asking after the *** report. *** passed me to an engineer, ***, who first denied knowledge of what a *** report is, then said he knew what it was but that City-Wide didnt do that. Since that was the purpose of engaging ********** services, I requested a refund of the $1100 deposit, of which $550 (50%) was returned, allegedly for services rendered by the inspectors visit. But the inspector was unprepared, the visit was unproductive, and it is unclear what report City-Wide promised would be ready by Wednesday 25th. The communication was deliberately misleading, and rushed me into the decision to engage their services. As no services were rendered, they have no right to keep that $550.Business response

********************* tried to compel us to provide a service that we never claimed to know or price. As agreed we signed on for licensed special inspection services according to the proposal we provided to *********************. We sent an engineer to begin necessary inspection visits. For some reason ********************** seemed to think if we provide certain DOB required services, we should provide any service she wants. We even refunded half her commencement fee although its clearly stated in our proposal that its non-refundable. We offer services for what we are licensed for. Providing services what we are not knowledgeable or licensed for would be fraudulent and illegal. We take seriously what we do, and will not compromise our values for anyone. ***** *****
