On Friday December 8th I contacted SeaComm’s Plattsburgh location in regards to my card being locked even after my account was made positive via weekly direct deposit, I was transferred to be explained that it was locked because of previous overdrafts and that i needed to keep my account positive for 24 hours once there’s positive amounts. Today on Friday December 15th I checked my account balance and there is an overdraft fee due to two charges of a “withdrawal bill payment” and essentially causing an overdraft. Business is well aware in change in 2 direct deposits going into the account to 1 due to a job loss. I’m now left with no check to live on for the week.Business response

***** *****Acct ending *******Upon review of Ms. ******* account, regarding her complaint sent in on December 8, 2023 to the Better Business Bureau the following is a synopsis as of 1/2/24. Ms. ***** contacted our Plattsburgh, NY, branch as her debit card was blocked, even though the account had been made positive via her weekly payroll deposit as she assumed. The member was notified that the card was blocked due to previous overdrafts and the account would need to be in good standing for 24 hours. The member states that she checked her balance on 12/15/23 and noticed there was additional overdraft fees caused by “withdrawal bill payment”. This was due to once her payroll deposit hit, she was left with a balance of $84.04. She had an additional two ACH withdrawals that cleared the account, however there had been twelve additional debit card POS purchased which cleared and used her ODP limit. No additional ODP funds were available once she used it all. Her account then was in the negative with no funds available.The member has a heavy usage of overdraft privilege and has had a number of conversations about this with our Resolution staff. We have determined that the member clearly spent the funds. This is nothing SeaComm caused. We have attempted to reach out to Ms. ***** on 12/23/23 and 12/27/27 to assist her in getting a budget in place so she doesn’t rely on overdraft privilege. As of 1/2/24 she has not returned our calls.
