I reached out to ******, the owner of Mattitaco, in early April to book his taco truck for a catering event in late June. After signing his contract and paying his deposit to secure the date, ****** because impossible to get a hold of. Calls, texts and emails went unanswered for days and then weeks. Less than a month after reserving the date, we were forced to cancel the event due to a family emergency. I sent ****** no fewer than two dozen texts, made at least a dozen phone calls, and sent an additional 2-3 emails, asking him to refund my deposit. He has NEVER responded to any of the communication, even after I told him hed be hearing from an attorney. Upon receiving correspondence from my attorney he CONTINUED to do nothing and still holds my entire deposit and refuses to respond to any communication. I have a feeling Im not the first client hes done this to, because this behavior is above and beyond inappropriate. I worked in restaurants and catering for years, running my own catering business for almost a decade, and I cant even process the idea of treating a customer this way. I want my deposit returned and his business looked in to.Customer response
