I recently had a frustrating experience with a local business. I brought my car in for an oil leak and was told that I needed a new catalytic converter to pass the emission test. This was odd to me as I had passed the test before without issue. They charged me $4,984.21 for the new converter, spark plugs, and fixing the oil tank cap. Which I feel is an insane amount. I had no other choice but to pay since my car was already in there. I noticed on my invoice that the mileage was recorded incorrectly, showing 105K instead of 95K. Unfortunately, the problems didn't stop there. The mechanic instructed me to return if the check engine light came on, so he could reset the sensors. A week later, the light came on and I returned to the shop. They then told me that both O2 sensors were faulty and needed to be replaced. I was confused as to why they didn't catch this when they replaced the catalytic converter. The cost of this repair was $2,090.64 due to the difficulty of accessing the sensors, which required 5 to 6 hours of work. Again, they listed my car's mileage inaccurately at 135K, when it is actually 95K. Now my car is making a strange noise and I smell burning every time I drive it. As a parent of a 3-year-old, I feel unsafe driving my car and plan to take it to a new mechanic. I feel taken advantage of by this business and am considering reporting them to the ********** of ******* in ********.

Received horrible service at a cost of $of 850 for repairs and maintenance on my car that the Midas shop in Nanuet ,** on route 59 said I needed. Well from day 1 I drove the car off the lot and my cat was overheating, I never had that problem before and once they changed a sensor they said needed changing this problem began with the overheating. They forgot to change my windshield wipers I had to go back to them because I was charged and they weren't changed. I went back again and they said they left air in the sensor it needed bleeding. A week later this problem was still ongoing. I took it to another mechanic shop because I truly didn't trust the work Midas gave me and I didn't want to be yessed and told I needed something else and that they never did anything to it and it was me. So the other mechanic had to continue trouble shooting it and after further review found the the trouble they broke off one of the sensors and left it dangling so no wonder I was still having a problem and coolant was burning/leaking. He took a picture and said to take that as proof to Midas maybe they will return some of the funds. Well I contacted Midas which they took no responsibility and denied doing anything wrong and stated that the other mechanic was lying and for me to bring it back to them. Then they hung up the phone on me.Very unprofessional service. I DO NOT TRUST THEM AND THEIR WORK ETHICS. Horrible experience which not only cost me money,time and safety. This left me a women, vulnerable on the road getting stuck and towed and unsafe conditions. They should be held accountable. They have no integrity.

They are using my VIN number and falsely updating my CARFAX Vehicle History Report. When calling them, they hang up the phone.
