On February 14, 2023 I ordered a wood stove over the phone with Everything Hearth and Home in the amount of $7,050.75. I paid for it with my CitiCard. I was sent a receipt via email. After four weeks I tried to reach them to see about delivery. On March 23, 2023 I received an email from Everything Hearth and Home stating they had filed chapter 7 banckruptcy and that I should look to my credit card company for resolution/reimbursement. ******** has denied my claims for both fraud and purchase protection. Purchased a wood burning fireplace on 11/28/22 by phone with sales representative. Told all items purchased in stock and would ship 1-2 weeks. Followed up via phone in Dec unit shipping anytime. Followed up via email January 5th 2023. Told Jan 6th via email highly unusual and was being escalated to management. No response. Emailed again Jan 27. This email was never answered. Called Feb 8 representative helpful and supposed to follow up 1-2 days. After three days and no call, called again and spoke to another helpful representative. Stated one decorative piece not in stock. Stated would ship all other pieces within the week. I have called three additional times to verify all available parts are being shipped (the part not in stock is not required for installing the unit/construction).Called and been on hold ***** minutes on three occasions with no answer. I have also tried reaching out via the website chat and to verify business hours and this is now password protected and I am unable to access the business website. They are not answering calls, not returning emails and I am unable to obtain any information until the unit has shipped which as of 3/3/23 it still has not. This item was a $6,000+ purchase and was made on the basis of the unit being in stock and shipped within two weeks of Nov 28 2022. I am friends with a contractor I had coordinated work with to install the fireplace and who is now moving out of state and will not be able to complete the job. Having to work with another contractor significantly increases the price of this project by thousands of dollars. I feel I was provided inaccurate information and am frustrated by the lack of communication and follow up. I still want the unit but am at a loss for how to discern whether this is even being addressed by the company and am now trying to arrange funds for the significant costs incurred by these delays. I work for a custom home builder and ordered a fireplace through this company for a new construction home. I was told this was an in-stock item and would ship promptly. Six weeks (and many emails and calls later) the company seemingly no longer exists and will not return my calls or emails. During those six weeks, I called at least once a week to check on shipping and every time I was told "The paperwork looks good, the warehouse is backed up, it should be shipping soon". I have not received the fireplace we paid for. The business has not yet offered a refund. I have filed a dispute on the charged amount through the business credit card. We ordered an empire cast iron stove late November 2022 and paid them $2078.00 We received an email confirmation on December 1, 2022. We were told that the stove would be shipped later that month.We did not hear from them and contacted them on January 11, 2023 and we were promised they will ship it in a couple of days. This went on for several times. We called and they made promises. We tried to call the last days and now they dont answer there phone. We just want or stove that we paid for 3 months ago or get a refund.Customer response

Ordered over $3700 worth of merchandise in mid-November 2022. Product was advertised as in stock. Have reached out to the company multiple times only to be told the product is in stock in their warehouse and will get escalated and shipped ASAP. Still waiting.Customer response

At this time, I have not been contacted by Everything Hearth and Home regarding complaint ID ********.What can the BBB do to help? If you check ****** reviews, etc. there are multiple people with the same complaint. How are such businesses able to operate in this fashion with no consequence?
