Maaco Mt ****** completed 3 separate jobs on a **** Pontiac Firebird.Paint is bubbling and chipping. Maaco Mt ****** had paint fall onto custom wheels. they tried to remove paint with a Razor blade damaging wheel.Business has not returned telephone calls or emails to repaint damaged parts of vehicle and replace wheel.

      Business response

      05/16/2023

In response to the complaint, the bubbling of the paint on the vehicle is due to rust, which is not warranted. The chipping on the vehicle is due to physical damage, again not warranted. The customer is aware that these items are not covered under warranty. However, we have tried to correct the bubbling but the part needs replacement. The customer is unwilling to change the part.

Over the years, we have done multiple repairs for the customer's other vehicles including this one at no charge.

As for the overspray, we had called the customer to come in but he was going for surgery at the time. He can bring in his car to remedy the overspray. We will also redo his wheel.

We only take responsibility for the items that are under warranty.

The only reason we believe that the customer reported us is because we refused to do a job on another vehicle because someone else quoted that amount.

We told him to have the other man do the preparation work and we will paint the vehicle for the amount we originally estimated. He refused. He wanted us to do everything for less than we quoted.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact **.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved owner stated bubble is due to rust. Attached pictures depict bubble chips are on non metal areas. Bumper. Spoiler. Also stated repair was free. I have receipt for ****** plus another for ****** and also another owner can probably pull up. ***** stated he would send damaged wheel for repair. This is a brand new wheel. Request replacement not repair for damage down while vehicle was in maaco possession.

You have advised that the customer is bringing in the vehicle on 6 /5/23.

We confirmed with the customer that he is brining in the vehicle on the 5th.

We do not understand why you are asking us what action we are doing before that date.
