My partner and I hired a moving company to pack **, move **, and unpack us. We moved from *********** ** to ******* ** literally 30 min away. We were quoted $15,000 if we paid cash. My partner knew the guy and trusted him and did not get anything in writing, unfortunately Our closing ended up delaying everything two days. This was not our fault but the buyers. We spoke to the owner of the moving company and let him know as soon as we found out which was literally the same day, again out of our control he then told us it would be $1,000 a day to store our stuff on two trucks we said ok we even understood hed need to pay the crew etc. we had no problem with it until he came back and demanded $34,000 or he would not release our stuff. He made up fake storage fees and said he paid the crew. We were so upset we cant afford this, but had to come up with it. We literally had them at our house yesterday and today the job is finished. WE asked the crew if they were paid the two days they didnt work and they said they were not. My point is how can he sleep at night charging us $34,000? He didnt move a business he moved a town home into a home. He completely took advantage because our move was delayed two days and in my opinion this is a horrible way to do business. Not to mention two drills were stolen and a few things broken.! Please help us rectify this so this person never does this to another person again. Thank youCustomer response
