I canceled my subscription to this business vis their website on December 13, 2024, but was still charged in January. I reached out to the company vis email with my cancellation information and they promised to make sure the subscription was cancelled, never saying anything about refunding me the money I was charged. But then once again,I was charged for IAPWE in February (todayFeb 6, 2025). I reached out to ****** and sent them my information with proof of cancellation, and they confirmed that they would dispute the companys charge, but I still havent heard anything back from IAPWE, And again, I still havent had any confirmation about getting the money back for February or January. This company is a scam and no matter how many times you cancel through their website, which I did at first, nor how many times you confirm that cancellation through email, you still continue to get charged for it. I canceled online through their website, reached out to them twice in email, and Im still having these issues.

This organization is a scam!!! I originally signed up for the free trial and then immediately cancelled my subscription using ****** since that is what the ***** stated on their website was the easiest way to cancel the subscription . This was a year ago ( January 2024) . Earlier today I got an email from ****** that iwape had withdrawn $59.88 out of my account. I was so confused because I remember canceling my subscription so I go through my email and sure enough I find an email from ****** from January 2024 stating that the subscription had been deactivated. So why was I charged? I go through my email and I find another email from February 2024 that says the subscription was reactivated by the merchant!!! I did not do this!! Iapwe had reactivated my subscription through ****** without my consent I want a refund!!

Despite what the complainant has stated in their complaint, it clearly shows that the complainant cancelled their subscription on 1/30/2025, after this payment for their many months of outstanding and unpaid membership dues was processed. The complainant's subscription has been cancelled since the aforementioned date and no charged have taken place since then. Any charges made prior to their account cancellation are valid and cannot be refunded in this case.

I subscribed for their service with automatic monthly payments. Months ago, I asked them to cancel my subscription, and they said they would. Two more times I continued to have payments withdrawn and two more times I asked them to cancel my subscription and refund me, and they said they would. I just got another payment withdrawn. I would like a refund for the payments ($15 total), and I want my subscription canceled.

    Business response

    02/11/2025

As of today, 2/11/2025, the complainant still has not cancelled their subscription. The subscription cancellation is a self-serve process that can be done at any point through the individual's own ****** account. We have gone ahead and cancelled the complainant's subscription.

I was looking for jobs on indeed when the website IAPWE emailed me asking me if I would like to be part of their association for writers so that I could easily find writing jobs. I could not see the contents of the website before signing up, but when I signed up, they force you to create a subscription to get money taken out even if you want to be a person that uses the website for free. When I finally got into the website after signing up for the free months I realized that it was nothing like how they advertised it. It was basically just a hub full of other jobs for writing. So essentially it was just indeed again, but for writing and it wasnt what I was looking for, and it wasnt what I was promised. I did some research on the website and I found out that they normally typically do this where they act as if theyre reading your writing Prompt that you submitted and theyve selected you but in all honesty, they choose everybody because theyre garnering money from the actual subscriptions. in less than 24 hours, I canceled my subscription and still for the last three months I was getting charged. I dont have access to the site since I canceled the subscription. I have no access to the site, but they still kept taking money from my account through ******. I messaged them individually through an email that was sent to me from ****** and theyre sending my cancellation up for review. I dont understand what they are reviewing. I canceled my subscription. I am no longer using their site. I dont have access to my profile in their site so they are just essentially taking money from me and theyre reviewing the possibility that I can , remove myself from their subscription program. It doesnt make sense. When you research them you find out that its very difficult to cancel your subscription and Im seeing that it is absolutely a head ache even going through ****** to get it removed.

We are not accusing the complainant of lying, however, it is not possible for them to have been charged after their free trial ended if they had canceled the free trial like they claimed.

I am being taken advantage of by this organization(if it's even one). I joined with the goal of becoming a paid writer and they let me join in order for me to work on certain writing assignments. I had only worked on one and never received a follow-up response on any type of feedback for it, so I never received payment for it. After awhile of becoming a member I had decided to not be a part of their organization anymore as I felt I wasn't going anywhere with it. I had kindly asked them to cancel my ********************* account. It looked like they did at first only to re-open it again, against my authorization. They then took the $4.99 out of my ****** account. Then, I reached out to them again and sent an email about this, telling them to cancel my account and refund me. They sent another email saying they would, but there was no verification of this and there still isn't. This recent going back and forth just happened this month. After this current email, I waited again, but there was no response. I decided to change my payment method to a card with no funds inside, so they wouldn't be able to keep taking money out. Then on 11/14, they sent me an email to my ********************* account(which I thought they had closed a long time ago) with another payment of $4.99 against my authorization using my credit card through my bank. Now, I had no idea how they got access to my credit card information. I had threatened to report them to the BBB, responding to both emails from both accounts. Please see the attachments with the unauthorized charges on Paypal(10/29 and 11/11) as well as through my ********************* email account on 11/14. Please review this and make them pay me my money back as well as shut down my accounts for good.

The complainant was free to cancel their subscription at any time and was provided with instructions for doing so. We can confirm that the complainant's subscription is now canceled. The complainant's claim that we had any type unauthorized access to sensitive financial information is demonstrably false. The complainant created their subscription with ******, and ****** automatically utilizes whichever payment methods the user has set up within their ****** account in order to make necessary payments for any subscriptions or billing. Since the complainant added a credit card to their ****** account, ****** automatically used this payment method in order to pay their outstanding balance. At no point do we have access to any of this financial information since everything is done through ******.

I entered the IAPWE website *********************************** one time to check it out , I may have linked my ****** account to subscribe (i don't remember doing so its been a long time) but the same day after searching i found out its a SCAM so i unsubscribed immediatly (from their site) and regardless of me unsubscribing and even tho i have never set an automatic payment for them , I found out an automatic payment a recurring one is set in ****** wish i never set up , So today 11/09/1997 i removed my card from ****** thats the only way i could stop this. I hope for a refund cause thats a lot of money i needed it for an urgent matter.

With all due respect, what the complainant has stated is not physically possible. The only possible way that the complainant could have set up any free trial and/or paid membership, would have been by agreeing to the payment terms on our website as well as an additional second time on PayPal's own website. Furthermore, the complainant would have had to actively complete a signup process on PayPal's website, providing their information in order to activate any subscription. We can confirm that any charge applied to the complainant's account was valid, not eligible for any refund, and that the complainant's account has now been cancelled. The images provided by the complainant as part of their complaint in no way serve to substantiate any of the demonstrably false claims made in their complaint.

I've used all the emails and phone number ************** I've been able to find: ************************************ ******************************** *********************************** ********************************* ******************************************** to cancel my subscription and membership. All email addresses get an undeliverable bounce back and their number just has an automated recording to fill out their contact form in their website which is not even there. I've filled out their online cancellation form multiple times!!!! When you look up their address it says "WE ARE SCAMMERS". I need this cancelled before 9/5/24. How are these people still able to operate after all of the BBB complaints. They are obvious scammers.

On April 21, 2024 I upgraded my free IAPWE account membership to a paid membership for the amount of $2.99 per month. I provided my bank debit card for the recurring charge. Their email stated I would receive an emailed receipt but that didn't happen. The IAPWE was of no use to me during this paid membership and so I canceled my account through my online account (they don't answer the phone listed to them, only have a message saying there's no staff to take calls) on July 27, 2024. I received an email stating that I need to cancel the subscription through my ****** account, which I had one but no bank account was tied to it, and after notifying IAPWE of this situation and that my membership was coming directly from my debit card/bank account, I received this reply: On Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 09:51:58 PM EDT, Updates ************************************ wrote:Hi *****,Thank you for reaching out to us. We have sent a cancelation request on your behalf.Best regards,IAPWE Account Support *********************************** ********************************** Today, August 22, 2024, there is a pending charge in my bank account from ******************** for the $2.99. I have tried to cancel my "membership" through this organisation for month now. They continue to charge my bank account even though I told them if they did not follow through that I would contact the BBB and eventually escalate from there

    Business response

We are not showing that we received any communication from the complainant requesting assistance with cancellation. We have now cancelled the complainant's account and no refund is warranted in this case since the complainant was on a month-to-month subscription that could be cancelled at any time and our records do not show they reached out to us requesting any assistance.
