Deposit for services paid in good faith on 1/31/22, billed via invoice #******** for public health web app development for HRSA funded project for start up nonprofit (*********) in ******* County **. Solicitation of services in ** through ************* under assumed name of Appwell Health working with Rational Surgical Solutions LLC. SOW and MSA executed 4/12/22. No work product, prototype, written proposal, goals document, build work, or deliverables submitted by company despite multiple requests (4/12/22 - 6/22/22) to meet reporting guidelines dictated by HRSA ***** guidelines. During called collaborative meeting on 6/21/22, CTO indicated no knowledge of aims or direction of proposal or web app product. Email, call, and text sent terminating relationship 6/22/22 at 14:06. Refund requested via call, text, and emails from 6/22/22 - 10/18/22. ************************* demanded that request for refund be stopped as he deemed it as harassment in email on 10/18/22 at 17:16. Fraud reported to PNC Bank through which deposit had been paid on 1/31/22 but Varyence and ************************* refused to cooperate with bank investigation. To date, no product, no deliverable, and no refund of deposit.Business response

It's disheartening to learn that you had an unsatisfactory experience during a Healthcare product strategy discussion (led by one of our CDOs, Data Ontologist-Data Scientist, and CTO resources). We always aim to deliver the highest level of service to our clients.
Please note our company policy necessitates an upfront retainer fee to allocate the appropriate resources and time to ensure our clients' satisfaction. If any additional work arises beyond the initial scope, we maintain open communication with our clients and collaborate to find a mutually agreeable solution. We acknowledge that, in this instance, we were unable to reach a satisfactory resolution regarding additional work requested.
We made multiple attempts to engage in mediation and offered to discuss the situation over the phone, but unfortunately, these efforts were not reciprocated. We remain open to communication and would be happy to address your concerns should you reconsider.
We'd also like to clarify that our company has never taken government grants, and we solely work with private organizations. The facts outlined in the complaint do not provide a fair, accurate, and balanced representation of the situation.
In light of the ongoing conflict in *******, we want to express our gratitude to all of our customers for their support, as a portion of every dollar goes towards helping *******. Many of our colleagues are based there, and we appreciate your understanding during these challenging times.
Your feedback is invaluable, and we will use it to enhance our services moving forward. We wish you continued success in your future endeavors and for your company.

He wanted to pretend that no deposit had ever been received and even accusing both me and ************************* of harassment for asking for a refund when nothing was ever delivered.
I am happy to hand over all email and phone call communication logs through the many months that I tried in vain to get anything from the **** It appears that his plan was simply to drag this out until I gave up but this money was supposed to help with the inequities faced in the native ******** and African American populations suffering in ******* County not for his company.

The fact that the company still is unclear about the nature of this request underscores my complaint. How can they take money and not know what this project was about still or where money came from?
In light of the ongoing conflict in *******, we want to express our gratitude to all of our customers for their support, as a portion of every dollar goes towards helping *******. Many of our colleagues are based there, and we appreciate your understanding during these challenging times.Although I certainly empathize with the people of ******* and have myself sponsored three separate families from ****, hosting them in ***** and **, no part of this $5000 should have gone to another charity in any form as it was allocated for the vulnerable population in rural **.
