Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing today to express my extreme frustration and disappointment in the service I have received from Securities Training Corporation (STC). I have purchased a program from STC to help me Prepare for more Series 9 and Series 10 Exams, with the intention of improving my financial knowledge and providing myself a better understanding of the securities market. Unfortunately, I have encountered immense difficulties while using the program. Specifically, while listening to the recorded demand lectures on my Apple AirPods, I experience egregious levels of static that cause huge impediments to my ability to focus and understand the content. When I have brought up this issue to STC, they have simply shrugged it off and told me that the problem is my own and there is nothing they can do. No warnings were presented on their website or before purchase that would create awareness of this major issue. I have submitted multiple complaints to STC, yet their complete lack of support and refusal to take responsibility has left me feeling helpless and frustrated. It seems as though STC is more interested in turning a quick profit than providing quality services to their customers.I hope you can assist in finding a solution so that I may have access to what I paid for and actually benefit from the program I have purchased. I encourage STC to take responsibility for their actions and make sure their customers are provided with a quality experience.Thank you for your time, ****Customer response

The customer gained access to our Series 10 material starting January 20, 2023. Over time, he has used the material consistently without any issues. Based on his access, he was able to use 100% of his On-Demand Lectures, which is the aspect of the course in question. On February 28th, the customer called the tech support line as he was having issues with his Air Pods. He was complaining that the sound was distorted. Based on his conversation with the agent, he was advised to attempt using a different device that may work best with his air pods or he could watch the videos without the air pods which seemed to have worked.
Resolution Taken
A resolution was not possible on our end for the air pods; however, his online access was still accessible to be used without them. He was advised that his Air Pods are not products that we can troubleshoot and that he should be contacting the manufacturer directly as this was an issue on that end. The sound in the Air Pods would not have hindered his completion as he could do so without them, which is evident in his online progress.Business response

We have gone ahead and did a thorough research of the challenges you experienced while reviewing your course. While the issues with the air pods is not an STC tech support task, we will go ahead and refund the cost of the Series 10 On-demand Lectures. The total amount to be refunded is $61.86.Customer response

I hire this company to teach me about the financial industry and to prepare me for the series 65 licensing exam. I bought my online course along with workbook for $142 in May of 2022. ****** completing my studies and finally feeling confident on the material that they had provided. I paid an additional $200 to FINRA to take my license exam for the series 65. While taking the test, I quickly realized the material I had been studying did not prepare me in any way shape form or even closely for this licensing exam. After failing the test, I called the company and told them they should probably update their material because I failed the exam based off of the study materials they had provided. Keep in mind I took the exam in October of 2022 so I spent a lot of time studying. While talking to customer service, he tells me he sees that I paid for the series 65 course material. However, for some reason the company sent me series 6 material. I didn't even know there was such thing as a series 6 test. Probably because you have to be sponsored by a financial industry in order to take that exam. After several emails back and forth I was basically told that they will not refund me my money nor will they give me the test materials for what I had paid for and if I wanted to take the course I could go ahead and pay for it againCustomer response
