I signed up for debt relief due to a hardship from pandemic. After six months of being with them, they have accomplished nothing, no debt resolved, per their report from my account. After months of harassing calls from my crditors, i finaqlly went in to my account to see what they had done. To my surprise, nothing, except pay themselves. This was why my creditors continue to harass me. Now I'm in worse shape than when signing up with them, because now i have to add 6 months of late fees and penalties to everything. I have paid them $1600 in this time of which they have only paid $222.40 towards my creditors and charged for themselves $1349.75 in fees. paying themselves for nothing accomplished. This was not the way the system was explained to me. the only thing they have done is lower my credit bureaus by almost 150 points and are asking for more money. of the $1349.75 charged by them and not used toward paying my creditors, I am asking for $1178.62 be refunded to me or paid to my creditors as promised. The other $171.13 in fees are monthly maintenance fees and legal fees (they never explained) they can keep. The reason i am asking for the $1178.62 back is that these are in their words "settlement fees" for negotiating with 3 creditors. But as seen from the attachment, they have settled nothing as my account shows today. When cancelling service on 5/2 I told them to continue with three they had settled, but refused to do so. They only were only interested in getting the deposit of $320 which they said they would not cancel. i did so through my bank. Today they basically have no settled accounts and they need to return the $1178.62 in "settlement fees" so that i may apply toward my creditors.

They still kept 50% of my money and did nothing. I felt pressured into settling. Then on top of everything they t er ied to have me hide this complaint where others could not read it. So my question is how many times does this really happen. ed.

I signed up with National Debt Relief on 4/14/22 and was asked what would be the best date to take out payments. I asked for the 26 and he said yes. They sent me the agreement with the date on it, but one day before that date they took out one payment of $291 and the next day was the 26th and they took out another payment. This first payment is not in my contract and now they won't send me my refund. They have had 8 days to return my money and they don't seem to want to even though they did agree at one time. It's just one excuse after the other every time I contact them. One was: it's still pending and the other was they said I had chosen to pay on the 25th of each month and they had set my payment for the 26th. Not true. It was set by me from their request to set the best date for withdrawals. They purposely took out two payments and did nothing to fix it or stop it. And now it just one lie or excuse after the other. They did not have my permission to take out two payments.

I signed up for National Debt Relief thinking it would help me get out of debt fast. I was happy in the beginning and I paid more each month than my contract. I was told that the more money I deposited the quicker I would pay of all my accounts. I have included documents showing how much extra I was paying. I wasn't happy about the agreement to pay back ******* 19 payments of $1 a month and Best Buy 12 payments. I wanted to pay in 4 payments like I had with other customers. I complained especially when I found out that all my extra deposits were going for huge fees. I attached another document showing the fees that they collected since the beginning of January. I thought that they were helping. I had perfect credit when I started with them and not behind on anything. They told me to stop making payments and now my credit is ruined. In the long run with the amount of money I was paying in fees I could have paid my credit cards. I cancelled with them and requested the fees for ******* and Best Buy be returned. They said no because I had agreed to the settlement. I complained about those two settlements from the very beginning. I have paid off *******, Best ******************* and **************** card since cancelling. When you talk to them about the process they go over things but not really clear. I admit I did not read all of the terms of the contract. I do want the fees I paid for ******* and Best Buy returned. I feel I was mislead which is my fault. I am hoping you can help me get the fees refunded.

I enlisted with National Debt Relief a couple months back. I made a large sump deposit of $1500 and have made three total deposits of $661. I have fallen into a hardship and can no longer continue this program and need access to my funds as nothing has been done with debt so far. Was told money would be wire transfered back to my bank account and as of today nothing has happened. No movement on my money through Global nor anything stating that my money is heading back towards me. Unless I get this money back within the next few days I will be losing my home and will be homeless. I am not happy with this.

NDR provided me with a settlement agreement, in writing, that was to be completed from August 2020 to August 2021. I made every payment on time but they continued taking money after the settlement was supposed to be concluded. I contacted them and I was told that there was no settlement agreement. So I sent them the paper to prove that there was one. Then they changed their story and said it did not go through, If that was true then they should have contacted me immediately to tell me. At no time did they ever contact me or communicate this to me. The settlement was supposed to have ended 8 months ago but they have continued to take money every month since then and the list of deductions goes on with no end in sight. I deserve to know the truth. What happened to the settlement agreement and why are they still taking money 8 months after the settlement was supposed to be completed? They presented me an agreement in writing, they need to honour it.

Initial date of business with them: May 2019 Debt collection and payments completed by February 2022. Was informed January 10th that the adjusted agreed amount of $25 would be last deposit, account going into "graduation", should be complete by end of February. March 10, they deducted the full original amount as previously contracted. I contacted them and informed them about the January 10th agreement and demanded a return of my funds that were originally not to be taken out. They refunded the funds, stated the account is in expedite for graduation and should be complete by March 17th. March 23rd, I received notification that I still owed funds to them. I contacted once more to clarify the previous two conversations that were conducted and questioned why is the account not closed as I was told twice by that time. I was instructed on March 23rd that there are no fees due, the account is going into expedite and will be closed within three to five business days. That would put it to Friday, April 1. It is Monday, 4 April, 2022. I entered into the *** account and saw they deducted my remaining funds of $9.85 for global fee and the account is still not closed as previously informed, three times. They can keep the $9.85. I just want the account closed. I requested the last two conversations an email response, in detail, that the account has been closed, graduated.

We got in over our heads and turned to National Debt to help us consolidate our debt and work with our creditors to reduce the debt. I feel the company highlights the help they are helping you by reducing the debt and gives very little (if any at all) insight to the fees that they charge to "negotiate the debt". National Debt did negotiate and pay down a few of our debts but we are about 60% through and finally noticed that between the fees they charge and the tax implications (which we were aware of) you are nowhere near the 50% reduction they "advertise". We recently withdrew our last two debts so they were no longer working on the accounts and worked directly with creditor who gave us a 50% reduction. Had we kept these accounts with National Debt they would have charged us around $5000 for their professional fees to reduce this debt - it literally took us one phone call of 5 minutes. We still have one last account that we are almost done paying with National Debt (this had already been settled so we could not withdraw it) and we will pay over $3000 in fees on this account once they make the last payment to the creditor. Knowing this negotiation process is not worth that (again we negotiated ourselves in 5 minutes) I strongly believe that National Debt should cancel the fees on our last account. They've earned more than enough on our previous settled accounts.

      Dear BBB,

Thank you for providing National Debt Relief with ************ correspondence.

We apologize for any dissatisfaction we have caused *** **** As always, we aim to communicate with our consumers with transparency. Our program as expressed in our outlined client agreement thoroughly outlines the total amount of fees to be collected based on the total enrolled accounts within the programs original balance.

Outlined on page 9 of the clients signed agreement we make all efforts to express the estimated personal savings needed to settle accounts, and the estimated negotiation fee for the total program. It is based on these amounts we can provide the client with an estimated program term based on their monthly budget.

After reviewing ************ account, we were able to provide favorable settlements for the enrolled accounts listed below:

JPMCB CARD account ending in **** resolved at approximately 57% of the original balance

GS BANK USA account ending in **** resolved at approximately 48% of the original balance

COMENITYCB/BLUENILE account ending in **** resolved at approximately 43 % of the original balance

TDRCS/RAYMOUR & FLANIGON account ending in **** resolved at approximately 48% of the original balance

Based on the settlement amounts *** *** was in line with the estimated program term provided to him from initial enrollment. National Debt Relief is committed to providing consumers with the best quality service possible and only collect fees for each enrolled debt after our client accepts a settlement offer and makes first payment on that settlement.

Outlined on Page 4 of the consumers agreement we inform our clients acknowledges that the settlement of debts and any savings thereby achieved through the program may result in tax consequences to the client, including that the amount of forgiven or cancelled debt may be considered income for individual income tax purposes. The client shall be fully responsible for any and all such tax consequences and may receive tax forms from the *** in which their compromise and/or reduction of debt was reported. Our clients should consult their Tax Advisors for any and all tax assistance and information.

After speaking with *** *** and reviewing his program in detail we were able to provide him with a copy of his agreement for review via email. Should *** *** have any additional questions or concerns about this matter, we invite him to contact National Debt Relief directly.

      Sincerely,

I have been enrolled in the National Debt Relief program since December of 2020 in an effort to clear about $10k worth of debt. Since then, the program made every attempt to get as much money out of me as possible. To begin with, I was informed that my time in the program would be **************************************************************************************** order to reach settlements; had I not deposited over $800 at that point, it would have taken much longer. Even after depositing the required amount advised by them, I had to consistently contact them with strict words in order for them to contact the creditors and reach a settlement for each one. After doing so, things only became more ridiculous. Each time I would contact NDR, I would hear a completely different response from one representative than that of another. For example, one representative would say it would take 1 week to get a settlement from a certain creditor; the very next representative would triple the duration. Additionally, I was never informed of their transaction fees until earlier this year. I was told these settlements would be about half of the original owed amount. Those fees, combined with all the monthly payments sent over the period of time I have been with this program, equate to about the same amount as my original debt. This means I already would have been better off paying off the debt myself. Eventually, it came to a point where I had enough of their sleazy practices. I decided to send the entire remaining balance to pay everything off in one lump sum. Prior to sending the money, it was confirmed that the payment will be immediately sent out. Only after depositing the money am I told it will take up to 30 days to get a response from the creditors. Soon, that turned into 90 days. I would call them everyday to expedite the process, only to find out from the creditors that they never sent a single request. All these animals want to do is steal your money.
