Visited Dental practice for 10 years. All of a sudden in 2024, dentist went out of network without letting me know. When I went for cleaning in January, I was informed that I had 8 cavities. I was surprised to hear that since I get my cleaning done every 6 months. Cavity filling was split into two sessions, which I completed one. After few weeks, I got a surprise out of pocket cleaning bill. I payed out of pocket for cleaning (I've never had to pay in 10 years) and cancelled remaining cavity filling appointment. However, few weeks later, I got a bill over $2,000 for my first filling. I payed my copay ($300) right after the filling and my insurance paid me ~$1,300. I would have not went to see this dentist had I known that they went out of network.Business response

***** ******************************* ********************** ***** ******** **** *** **** **** ** *** ******************* ****************************************** ******** ********* ******** *** ******* ****** ***** *Hi,I am unable to use the code to login, but wanted to make sure I sent you a response to the patient complaint that was filed against my officethe ID number is:ID ***************Patient received payment from Delta Dental insurance and decided he will keep the money instead of paying for his treatment.Patient (****) was informed ************************* out of net with Delta AND paid his previous cleaning (1/10/24) visit when he had fillings done on 2/21/24.
He was paid by Delta a total of $1728 but did not contact us to let us know. We tried to contact numerous times to contact/get payment, pt declined.
After speaking with the patient he stated, had no knowledge and at one point also claimed he was never paid. He also said he was keeping the payment from Delta.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:[Your Answer Here]
This is a false statement.
I have only been contacted once about the payment through mail, and I immediately called to address the issue. They informed me that they had previously contacted me via email, but we both discovered that they had my incorrect email address, which is why I did not receive any communication from them. They then updated my email address, but this was only after I called them after receiving a letter through the mail. When I called them, I informed them that I would be paying the amount that my insurance had given me ($1,386) because it is not fair that I have to pay additional out-of-pocket expenses when I had no knowledge of them going out of network (already paid 10% out of pocket). I have been a patient at Madison Dental Group for the past 10 years and they never informed me about their change in network status this year. If you go through their *********** reviews, you'll see that a lot of patients are going through this issue. Please let me know if you have additional questions. Thank you.
