I attended NYGA for an appointment on 3/31/2023. The appointment was a 10-minute long session in which I did not see my regular physician, Dr. **************************** but a technician who works at NYGA. The appointment was to take a "smart pill" that was to monitor my digestive system for 5 days. I returned the monitoring device to NYGA on 4/4/2023. When I asked the office if I had a co-pay for the appointment/device on 4/4/2023, I was told I did not. Nearly two months later, I received a bill for $1,711.06 from NYGA. I was never informed that the cost of this appointment/smart pill procedure was this expensive, and I am confident that NYGA purposefully withheld this information from me. This is completely egregious and medically unethical. I informed NYGA that I will be disputing this claim with my insurance. I also kindly asked them to please reconsider lowering the cost of the bill to which they responded they would not do, even given the fact that the cost of the procedure was blatantly withheld prior to my 3/31/2023 appointment and for nearly two months thereafter. Again, to reiterate, I was told I did not have a co-pay or balance upon returning the device on 4/4/2023. **** has failed to show any signs of empathy in this matter and is refusing to take responsibility for blatantly lying and withholding information. When we spoke with their billing department, the woman went so far as to state that I "wasn't even on insurance" when I had the procedure, which is completely inaccurate. This is clear evidence that they are disorganized and do not practice medical ethics, nor do they truly care about patients' well-being.

This complaint is pertaining to consequences of mistreatment by **** gastroenterologist ********************************************************* and the fact that ************************* has been continuously ignoring my complaint directed to him as a practice administrator. I repeatedly sent him emails and requested calls back, but no response was provided. I am going to report ********************** to the office of professional medical misconduct, but my complaint in this case pertains to the fact that office administrator has been acting in an unprofessional and dismissive manner. On 11.17.22 I sent him email detailing wrongdoing by ********************** including gross negligent mistreatment and its consequences, performing unnecessary testing and interpreting them erroneously and overbilling. He responded in a **** manner and clearly dismissed the complaint. I send a follow up email and then another one - silence. I called again and again because ********************** keeps badmouthing me to her colleagues which I wanted to put a stop to - no response. He is avoiding me and pushing complaint under the rug. I am filing this with goal to report this business that is acting in grossly unethical manner, is dishonest, known for its overbilling and negligence. I am attaching the test that was erroneously pronounced as positive by ********************** ( who works with **********************), and the mychart communication with ******* gastroenterologist stating that the test is negative. I requested corrected report from both ********************** and ************** but neither responded
