I decided to contact Vox Illustrations to get started on my children's book project. I paid the first $3,000.00 on 10/01/2020, which was to include the illustrations and limited revisions. They requested an additional $1,500 for unlimited revisions and revisions for my manuscript on 12/02/2020. I was charged an additional $799.00 on 03/04/2021 and $1,400 on 04/12/2021 for the publishing of my book as well as a six-month marketing campaign upon publishing. Vox Illustrations has taken an unsurmountable amount of time in submitting artwork and edits via email for my review and approval. I have an email thread I can submit at your request to confirm this. As you can see, the total costs are significant and I don't have a finished product or final edits. They have failed to communicate regularly, so I've emailed them repeatedly to check on the status of my book. During this time, I received emails from a ***, a gentleman who took over my project and had replaced a ******************* (the original contact I had for Vox) unbeknown to me. To give you an idea of how long they take, my last email correspondence was 04/04/2022 with the latest edits. By 05/04/2022, I sent *** all of the additional edits I wanted them to revise. On 06/02/2022, I request information about the status. On 07/05/2022, I emailed again since no one had replied. On the same day, a gentleman by the name of ********************* replied saying they would give me updates in a couple of days. On 07/08/2022, I received an email with the "latest edits" with the name *** * on the email. When I opened the file, the edits were from months ago that had already been completed. I emailed them on 07/12/2022 to let them know the attached file was not the most recent. I also inquired who my contact is at Vox. They haven't tried to resolve the issue and in two years, the book has yet to be published. I'm hoping I can receive a partial refund and a break down of the services against the total amount of services already paid.Customer response

(*********************** - #********)April 2021, I entered into a 10 book deal agreement with Vox Illustrations. They were supposed to specifically help my illustrator do color fills, do details, and I paid extra for type setting. The company promised to place minimum two illustrators on a book in order to finish minimum 1 book per month. (We really wouldn't mind if it were every two months, we just wanted a system) We paid $6,200 for the books, plus another $1,700 for the typesetting. My illustrator provided them sketches, color pallets, and detailed notes. She continually had to redirect the staff and ask for revisions. Each revision came back with the same exact mistakes. It is easy to say unlimited revisions when they keep sending the same work without changes. By December, we only had 4 pages completed and typeset. At the beginning of a new book, my illustrator figured they knew what was expected. In this book, they simply copied the characters from my illustrators samples and pasted them into the picture...they did no details and had many errors. No slight errors...obvious errors. By December, after my illustrator said that she would easily finish the books herself, I attempted to get my refund for unfilled and unsatisfactory work. They begged for several chances. We gave them several chances to do JUST ONE PAGE. They did the same work...same mistakes. It was shocking. I have attempted to call, and ask for calls and there are always excuses for not calling. In the meantime, I have managed to save money to slowly pay my illustrator her monthly salary fee to help complete a couple of books. I was hoping to have a series by now to pitch to larger companies, but they are asking (as they have asked since summer) for a series. Lastly, I will say here as I've said before to the company...I'm not rich. I saved for several years to do this and I just wanted to make something culturally responsive for children. I attached original proposal and 100% money back promise.Customer response
