      I purchased a devacurl hair dryer from Ulta ************ it is smoking and emitting plastic pieces. I reached out to devacurl for a replacement or refund and they refuse to send one without a receipt. I dont have the receipt anymore and contacted **** and they said they can not provide a receipt for me. This is hazardous and unsafe so I threw out the hair dryer. Now devacurl asks me to send a photo of the cord cut but I threw the dryer out.

      I purchased the devacurl ultra defining gel 32oz, devacurl light defining gel travel size (2), and devacurl heaven in hair. I experienced extreme scalp irritation and itchyness so badly that I had to wash it out twice. I considered going to the hospital for chemical burn. I saw there is a class action lawsuit against them for scalp irritation and hairloss and I want a refund please. I've attached my receipts, a pic of the redness/irritation of my scalp as well as the class action law suit and the pics of the products.

      We have become aware of the concerns that you raised with BBB regarding your experience with DevaCurl products.  We would like to thank you for providing us with your purchase and experience information and we are sorry you are not satisfied with our products. As you mentioned, such concerns were the subject of a class action lawsuit.  DevaCurl denies the allegations in the lawsuit and stands behind the quality, safety, and formulation of its products, all of which meet or exceed all applicable safety and quality standards set by the cosmetics industry and confirmed by its independent experts.  However, to avoid the cost of a trial and potential risks for both sides, the class action lawsuit was settled and the deadline for submitting a claim to receive payment under the settlement has since closed. 

      As a result of the settlement, any claims associated with such products have been released.  You submitted photos of several products with your complaint and receipts for some, but not all of the products shown, so it is not possible for us to determine whether any of the products qualify for a refund.  Nevertheless, as a courtesy to you, we will issue a refund in the amount of $37.00 as determined by the invoice images you submitted.

      I was introduced to DevaCurl by stylist at the time in 2014 and continued using the LowPoo and NoPoo shampoo and the One Conditioner until early 2022. Before using Deva Curl, my hair pattern consisted of volumous, soft springy ringlets of curls that hang down. But over time, my hair first became less volumous. Then, my curls grew looser without elasticity. My hair became **** and brittle even though I never blow dried my hair more than five times between 2014-2022. My hair ends grew wispy and no matter how much hair I cut off, the shaft of my hair was much thinner than before. My hair could not retain length. Areas of my hair showed loss and I began taking products for hairloss. Trying to mediate hair situations over the years, dryness, puffiness, breakage, stiff hard texture and trying to get back to my original Curl has been a very distressing and agitating experience. I spent so much money and tried natural hair solutions to try to bring back my Curl. I refuse to go back to perms or heat. I had spent thousands of dollars on DevaCurl. I was a religious user of your shampoo and conditioner. I did not embrace the idea that DevaCurl products were damaging my hair and causing my issues. While all around me, everyone's hair looked nourished and grew to lengths they couldn't believe, my hair continued to falter. Finally, I stopped using DevaCurl. At first, I would try a different product but would convince myself DevaCurl made my hair feel better. Feel better but not look better. Then, I stopped.Looking back, I wish I had gone with cheaper products. I believed aging was my issue but when I finally decided to step away from DevaCurl, my hair is now making progress toward hydration and volume is getting better. I am starting to get some of the compliments I used to get at the start of my journey. It is my hope that my hairshaft and ends will improve and that I too will be able to retain length. I feel misled about ingredients used in your hairline and victimized.
