      Well, where do I start? I had a small procedure done on my eyes in November of 2021 and anthem was to pay claim, but then anthem turns it around on me and says that I had a secondary insurance when I didnt and I have tried everything in my power to get them to pay out the claim but they keep s******* everything up because Ive sent appeal letters and documents that prove that I am telling the truth and all of this but anthem sends me the approved appeal but different dates and different doctor that I dont even know. I am super stressed out from all of this and its just been a huge headache for the last three years and frankly I am just dont with anthem blue cross.

      Pretty much useless. They say your doctors take them but then they don't. It takes several months to get set up and you will have to pay for everything out of pocket until then, and there is no reimbursement. And you can forget about prior authorizations.

      Anthem BCBS actively sabotaged my medical care. I read my policy benefits from top to bottom (134 page document), followed instructions they gave me. The case manager who denied my claim did not even know the nature of the treatment she denied, and then proceeded to try and direct my medical care, which is probably illegal of her to do so. They purposely waited until the last minute, two days before my inpatient admission date, to deny the claim, and then suggest an inappropriate treatment, before pretending the issue was resolved. They failed to follow the procedures created by themselves.

      I missed a payment and was told I had a grace ******* I paid my bill, only to be told by my pharmacist I don't have insurance. When I checked I had been dropped. They lied to me telling me I had insurance when it had been cancelled already.

      be very carful when you deal with Anthem ********************************** Shield they contract a third party to sell enrollment in ******** advantage they refused to cancel my enrollment, which I communicated to them by email within 5 days, because I did not contact customer service by phone ( email is not acceptable ...) I had then to fax the request spending time and money Because of their refusal to dis-enroll me as first of the month, I had to see my gastro-enterologist specialist who is ******** network as a cash patient.... Anthem collected my ******** premium for the month but they did not reimburse me the costof specialist visit, which was lower than premium My advise is that to avoid Anthem ********************************** Shield Pleas read the investigation about how this insurance company committed 1B $ + fraud with ********

      If I could give zero stars I would. I understand the safety issue of what I am about to write but come on. So, my husband had a massive stroke 7/1. I called today to figure some items out and the operator had no empathy. He asked for a verbal okay from my husband who cant speak and is trached and still in the hospital. He didnt really understand what I was saying: umit was in plain as day English. I said he physically cant give a verbal authorization. He was whistling while trying to look up the information and trust me I am not in the mood today. Than he said I can send you an authorization by email for your husband to sign. The man is unable to do anything right now. Nothing. The man said something else & I kindly listened because I am not in the mood to be an a**** right now. He said is there anything and I hung up. Not in the total mood.

      The health portal has almost exclusively out of date information. I've called tens of doctors to try to make an appointment as a new patient and they've either told me that the doctor I expected to be there does not even work there or that they will not accept new patients, contrary to the portal's information. The portal is confusing to use and customer service is very unhelpful. I asked them to provide me with an up-to-date list of doctors that I could contact and they provided me with the exact same list that I found myself on the website. Terrible health insurance that I will advocate my company to drop as soon as possible.

      If only I could give zero stars!!!I am a psychologist in private practice. There is a single case agreement to provide services for an Anthem subscriber. After countless emails and HOURS on the phone, and submitting everything requested multiple times, all Im getting is ignored or entirely unprofessional behavior from Anthem reps. **** owe me $910 for services Ive already provided per the contract they drafted and we agreed to. All I want is one competent person willing to take some initiative to figure out what their systemic issue is that is preventing them from getting me paid. All I want is for Anthem to honor our contract. Why am I being expected to provide medical care for free?

      I called the **************** to get a referral to an "in network" specialist to make sure that I don't get any ridiculous billing. The in network doctor they referred me to for a consultation/ office visit to get a diagnosis works out of a hospital outpatient facility and bills ALL their patients as surgical outpatients whether its just an office visit or full on procedure. I get a bill for $295 ($600 before discounts) from the doctors office and ask Anthem why they didn't cover it? Apparently this facility ONLY bills in those codes, and will not change it to a home office visit code which would be covered under my plan as just a co-pay of $25. Long story short, Anthem billed it against my deductible and made me responsible for this crazy doctors office visit bill when they are the ones that referred to this doctor in the first place. Why would you send me there and then make me pay ??? Its ridiculous that somehow I'M supposed to know what kind of facilities doctors work out of, as if there isn't enough pressure on patients to do research on everything before going to a doctor. If you tell me to go somewhere as an insurance provider, I show up where I need to, especially when I'm in pain. I have gone through 5 different avenues to get this bill covered and will continue to do so. I will not be responsible for the lack of information that the customer service refuses to share when I'm doing my part to make sure I'm covered from the beginning.

      I can't begin to leave a review anything short of horrible customer service for Carelon Rx and ********************** Blue ********************** Blue **********************. The people may be very friendly and may want to help, but receiving actual correct information, direction, and resolution to a customers concerns is about as certain as the same person hitting the Mega Millions 3 times in a row.... Not Happening! I'm so ****** disappointed and deflated by my insurance provider and I will be discussing my concerns with my company's HR department next week. We all have different experiences, and my last 3 interactions with Carelon Rx and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield was less than favorable. If you have other options for health insurance needs, truly consider the other options. You'll possibly save yourself some time and aggravation... and money!
