On 12/5/22 I called the company to cancel policy #*********. Because it was within 10 days of it being withdrawn from my bank account, it was too late to stop the payment but I was told that i would be issued a refund by check would be mailed within 10 days. As of 2/14/23, I have not received the refund of $90. I have called the company 7 times and all I've gotten was lied to by several people. These are the dates that I've called to inquire about my refund:12/5/22- cancelled policy. Told refund would be issued w/in 10 days.12/19/22- Spoke with ****. He said a check would be mailed the next day.1/4/23- spoke with ******. She said I should have received something by now and said she would enter another request with the "escalation team" and start the whole process over again.1/23/23- spoke with ******. She said she only saw the request made in January but not one for December. Said that Maybe the delay was because of the holiday. This was day 19 from my last call. The holiday was only 1 day.2/10/23- Spoke with **** again. He had no answers for me but did snicker when I told him that I felt I was being lied to and that there was no intent to refund my money. He quickly said he would speak with the "escalation team" and call me back. He never called back. He is also the same **** that said the check would be mailed the next day on 12/19.2/13/23- spoke with ******. She said she would contact the managers to see what's going on and said to call back the middle of next week. I asked if the managers were the same as the escalation team and she said she didn't know anything about an escalation team. She is located in the *******, ** office.It's ridiculous that I've had to call this many times. If there was any intent to refund my $$, it would have been done by now. It doesn't take almost 3 months to print and mail a check. I've included pics of the identical letters sent in January and December, as well as the 3 company names and addresses used. The number on the letters is the one I've called. The letter head says ******** but the number is under S. USA ********* ****Customer response

In reference to complaint ID ********, on 2/17/23, I received a refund check from the insurance company for the requested amount. Shame on them that it took a complaint to the BBB to get a response from them.

My wife and I paid SBLI for life insurance for over 15 years. I had signed up for direct pay last year. I made my regular payment 6/29. I thought the account was current until I received a letter that I was over due. I quickly made a bank payment. They sent the money back and said my policy was canceled. I did not receive notice until it was to late. The company explained their policy and said I can reapply. Im worried that they we reject us or raise or premium. If you could contact them to reinstate our policy that would be great. We are currently up to date with our payments.Business response
