Diamonds are a luxury. Nobody needs to buy one, so when shopping for a diamond, you will likely be treated extremely well by the jeweler. My experience buying from Rare Carat (RC) was excellent. For several years I had been casually looking for a ring comparable to one I lost that was within my budget. Their website makes it easy to compare all the attributes of different diamonds and I ultimately selected a 1.9 ct natural diamond. Buying before seeing the ring in person was a little scary, but the ability to return it was extremely reassuring. When my ring arrived it was absolutely gorgeous, even better than I couldve anticipated! But post-sale is where Rare Carat REALLY shines. Fast-forward nine months, and my diamond escaped the prongs. I was lucky to find the stone and took it to a jeweler who was concerned the prongs were inadequate for the size of the stone. When I contacted RC, they responded immediately. We had several pleasant and courteous email communications (they offered a phone call too) and provided me with multiple generous options to remedy the situation. I requested a totally different solution and they swiftly agreed, much to my delight. I have worked in a very customer service oriented industry for 29 years.
