For months I have been receiving spam calls identifying themselves as "the accident help line". Sometimes 4 calls a day. They come from spoofed #'s. They start by telling me they understand I was in an accident which was not my fault & ask if this is true. I've said no and asked to be removed from their list. If I try to call these #'s back they don't work. Today I had enough and went along. I gave a fake name, address, accident description etc. I said I didn't have an atty and had not made a settlement with the at fault party. Each time was told I would be transferred to the next person to find out what I was entitled to collect. I was finally connected to the 4th person after 18 minutes on the phone and got disconnected. However a # showed up on my phone which did allow me to call them back. This # was ************. I explained I had been disconnected while speaking to a claims specialist. She said she was with accident.com and started asking me the same questions again. I explained I already provided this information before I was disconnected. Then I told her I hadn't actually been in an accident and was just wasting their time and if they don't remove my # I will continue to s**** with them and make them waste 20 minutes of their time everytime they call me. Perhaps you can help to get my # off the list they give to their call centers. My # is ************

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I do not know if I've rec'd any addl calls because I have not been answering any calls identified as "spam" by my phone. While I appreciate the business' response I think the problem goes deeper than this. I think the problem the business really needs to address is the subcontractors they are using to contact potential customers. They are the ones not following the rules. I have been on the do not call list for years but these subcontractors are clearly not complying. In addition over the past 4 months I have told the callers numerous times that I don't want to be called yet they kept coming. The business needs to modify who they are working with.

In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

      Sincerely,

I have begun getting these calls again, from the following #s
      7/29/24     ************     Name shows as *****************************
      7/30/24     ************     Name shows as *************************
7/30/24     ************     Name shows as Vixlet
I spoke with each of these people and they are the same calls trying to get accident history that *** entitle me to money and to connect to an attorney.

Today (8/2/24) I recd 5 calls from the following #s which I did not answer but suspect they are for the same purpose. They dont identify a name associated with the #.
      ************************** ************, ************.

If the business is not able to prevent their vendors to stop calling me I guess the next step is to file a complaint and action with the FTC.

I look forward to your response.

I am getting non stop spam calls all using different fake spoofed phone numbers so I cant even block them from accident.com. After asking many times to be left alone the calls keep coming so I played along to see who the harassers are. I gave the call center a fake name and fake car accident report and was connected to an accident.com call rep. I feel its disgusting an **************** is using out of country call centers to get around the do not call list to harass fellow Americans. I want my number and info removed from these scammers lists and to be left alone forever.

For the last two months, I have been getting spammed called by Accident.com. The most recent as this Saturday. This is despite me being on the Do Not Call List.Every call is the same. I pick up and an AI voice asks me I've recently been in an auto accident. There is no option to opt out of these calls. I finally answered yes to these questions. And then you are transferred to a call center clearly not in the *************. You can hear multiple conversations/calls happening in the back ground. If you ask who they are representing they hang up and will not give you this information. When asked to not be called back, they hang up. So I finally played a long one day, and I went through their process. After answering their questions, I was connected with a local lawyer in my state who will "help me" recover money for an accident. This information was emailed me to me. And low and behold, the company at the heart of these calls is Accident.com.I wrote Accident.com and asked to please put me on their internal do not call list. Clearly this hasn't happened as I've continued to get calls. The most recent was on Saturday. (4/27/24).At this point, I am assuming that Accident.com is contracting with various lead generating companies, hence the spam calls. Accident.com is clearly in violation of Federal laws via the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and various state laws. I feel like the only way to get these annoying and harrassing calls to stop is to take legal action via the *****

For the last six months, we have been receiving telemarketing calls from Accident.com, even though we are on the Federal Do Not Call list, and have never given this company any express written permission to telemarket us. The latest of these harassing calls, have come from the number ************. My husband answered the latest call, which was on 3/5, and was transferred to an Accident.com rep. ** have made several attempts to reach out to the company to resolve the matter, but have been completely ignored. At this point, I will need to speak to the company's ATTORNEY or LEGAL REPRESENTATION to resolve this matter. Simply "removing our number" or "adding it to their DNC list" will NOT suffice. If we do not hear from their representation in a reasonable amount of time, we will seek significant legal action as allowed by Federal statute.

      Hello BBB,

Thank you for notifying us of this complaint. We have looked into this and do not show that we have ever contacted **************. We have no record of his name, email or phone number in our system. I have provided 3 screenshots which shows a search by the daytime phone number he provided below in the complaint, there were no incoming or outgoing call attempts made. We have also searched by name and email within our database and there were no matches. As of today, we have added this phone number to our DNC list.

On Friday, July 28th, we did receive an email from ************** with the same complaint as outlined here, but no one from our team reached out via email. He did not provide a phone number in that email.

What other information is needed to show that we did not contact **************?

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The number that has been receiving the harassing calls is ************. I would like that number added to the do not call list. I have still been having your call center calling my home number since I started this complaint. Also, it should not take a complaint to the BBB to get you to add number to your DNC list. When a victim requests it you are obligated to immediately desist calling that number. I also understand that you have outsourced your spam calling to third party call centers, but you are ultimately responsible for adhering to the *** rules regarding spam calls and the do not call list so don't try to play it off as not your responsibility. Predatory spam calls like the ones you pay people to do are the reason why an entire generation of people no longer answer the phone.

To Whom It May ***************** had responded to this complain two other times. The first two complains had the below customer information:

      *******************
      **************
      Daytime Phone: **************
      E-mail: ******************

As I mentioned on the first two responses, Accident, LLC had never called the phone number ************** originally included in the complaint and did not have the name, ******************* or the provided email in our system. In today's most recent complaint, the actual phone number that is receiving the calls show ************** which is different than originally provided. We do have that phone number in our system, under a different name and show one call from July 28th. Accident, LLC has made no contact with phone number ************** since July 28th. As of today, August 8th, we have additionally added this phone number to our DNC list, have requested the vendor that originally contacted **************, to add this phone number to their DNC and the vendor they may have worked with. The original phone number provided was added to our internal DNC list after the first complaint.

Please let me know if any further information is required.

"****" an Accident.com computer robocalls people across ***************** seeking accident victims. After a few qualifying questions, the computer transfers you as a potental lead for Accident.com subscribed attorneys to file injury claims on your behalf. Or another intake person qualifies you and again transfers you as a potential lead to an Accident.com subscribed attorney. The problem is that Accident.com does not compy with the national "Do not call list" nor an individuals request to be removed from their calling list.
