Switched my 80 pound dog to farmers dog several months ago. Today at his vet check up they were very concerned with his weight loss and lack of muscle.. my vet said he needs at least 1700 calories per day. Turns out the one pack a day of food recommended by farmers dog based on his weight is only 800 calories!!!! Not even half of his daily requirement for over 200 dollars a month!!! I called to see what the deal was. They just try to justify it and say they can adjust it which will obviously cost more money! Im am done. No more. The farmers dogs neglect in providing the proper amount of food has now caused a health issue in my pet. Beware and check the amount they recommend

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. Were truly sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

When considering caloric needs, it's important to note that there are a variety of factors that are considered. One of the factors that can impact caloric needs is digestibility. In comparison, fresh food, such as the fresh, human-grade recipes we provide, tends to be highly digestible, which can allow the calories to be metabolized more efficiently than in less digestible options. We understand that every dogs needs are just as unique as they are!  Therefore, we provide the opportunity to customize portions at any point to meet the needs of each individual pup.

All that said, we work closely with our board-certified nutritionists to ensure we offer the best meal plans for the health and well-being of all the dogs in our care. We also encourage all dog owners to consult with their veterinarians about any dietary changes, as their expertise is invaluable for your dog's health and well-being.

Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you have any questions. We can be reached at **********************************. Were always here to help!

Didn't work for our 4 year old Wheaten terrier- poodle mix. All flavor mixes gave her diarrhea --- this was after transitioning her to new food per Farmers Dog instructions. She wouldn't eat 2 of the flavors at all **************** only would touch the Pork and ******. After several instances of diarrhea, we were trying to figure out if she was eating goose p*** or something else. Visited the vet who strongly recommends against Farmers Dog. After going back to her original food, everything resolved. Then tried adding 1-2 Tablespoons as a topper (I now have over a month of expensive food!) --- instantly, back to diarrhea. Never ******** Dog again!

Week 3 of Farmers dog and my dog has severe gastrointestinal problems. Wicked diarrhea that never occurred when transitioning to other dog foods. ( She had a great food that was sadly discontinued.)I did think it strange that all FD recipes have high fiber ingredients like Brussel sprouts, broccoli or Chia seed. My vet said dogs are not supposed to eat that stuff. Do wolves eats broccoli, maybe hipster wolves. Since the dog food industry is a hot mess, looks like Ill have to start cooking her food myself. FD gave me a refund for last shipment. My dog is 11 years old and has never been sick in her life, this was 100% caused by this food. Im waiting for the ***** test from vet to see if it could be e-coli, a common recall for fresh dog foods.

Hi **** we're deeply sorry to hear that your dog hasn't been feeling well. As fellow dog people, we can truly empathize with how alarming it can be when our pups are not at their best. We sincerely hope she feels better soon. While it's not uncommon for these reactions to occur as the body adjusts to clean, fresh food, we hope it's reassuring to know that the health of every dog we're entrusted with feeding is our top priority so we're here to support you however we can.

Additionally, we wanted to mention that our recipes are formulated by our on-staff board-certified nutritionists to ensure they are 100% nutritionally complete and balanced while using human grade ingredients. Either way, we want to ensure we look into your experience thoroughly, so one of our specialists has reached out in order to collect a few more details from you.

Our dog has severe pancreatitis and may not survive. Based upon his lab work his pancreatitis is due to lipemia (high fat in his blood). Upon review of the nutrition value review Farmers Dog is high fat, which has left my dog extremely ill with pancreatitis. I would encourage people who are feeding with Farmers Dog to seek the nutritional value information and compare that to the recommended daily values for fat intake. Our dog has only been eating Farmers Dog for a few months. We thought we were making a healthy choice, but now our dog is likely dying.

The food itself was great for my fur baby.I received 3 separate shipments. Only one arrived in good condition. The other 2 the package was soaking wet,the food thawed. The last package I received today the dry ice bags were not sealed and the paper insulation they use was saturated. So because of my concern over the safety of the food I have chosen to cancel my subscription. I have voiced my concerns about their shipping method. Each time getting the same response....we will try to do better next time. There will not be a next time

I had been seeing TFD all over the internet a long with similar pet foods. There's 3 Dogs in our house that we feed a mixture of 3 different foods to daily mixed together. In an effort to cut down on cost and provide better nutritional value and make meals easier we decided to try TFD. Two of the dogs loved it, no problem, then again they are not picky eaters. The third dog who tends to be a picky eater and happens to be my dog did not like and refused to eat her food which was the pork flavor. I disappointed because I was really hoping to cut out all the other brands and feed all dogs just one kind of food. So the next day I resumed her feeding using the turkey flavor and using the food transition schedule, she licked her bowl clean. Now she is eating only TFD but only likes the turkey flavored. Next order I will only get her the turkey and try the chicken flavor. She's licking her bowl clean and on her way to losing weight. My point ,dogs are like people it takes them awhile to get use to things, others not so much. Some can handle this kind of diet for others it's problematic for their system. I like that it's human grade that means I can try the recipe my dogs gonna eat....that's how much I luv her! Turkey was actually pretty good!

Farmers Dog for the win! We were recently impacted by Hurricane ***** which meant all our perishables, including our Lolas Farmers Dog food. Its the only food shes willing to eat as other foods were causing skin problems & causing my already 7lb yorkie to lose more weight. We called corporate in hopes that they would understand our situation & assist with replacing at least 2 bags until we were able to get electricity. Our awesome representative ** was able to give us plenty options and sent us an easy recipe to tide us over while we got the food. ** ended up replacing all 9 bags that spoiled as well.We cant thank you all enough for your understanding and generosity!

Honestly, for the price you would think that my dog would be excited about food and she is not it gets served. She looks at me she walks away. She was obviously hungry, which is why served her but she was to see what were having for dinner now.She had diarrhea in the house. It looked like there was some blood associated with it, along with the carrots that are in the food. And she went downhill. I honestly thought she was dying even the vet said shes passing.Of course she no longer wanted to go near the dog so I started feeding her things like potsticker fillings, Continue decrease, pooped out more blood and diarrhea than in the evening she changed. She was back to normal eating kibble and tri-tip and chicken.I will not touch farmers dog again, but its not like my dog ever really wanted it.But I swear she got bacterial infection from the food.
