      As an IEEE member I applied for life insurance (IEEE *************** Plan) through this organization as it has a very good reputation. I went through all of the steps to obtain *************** I then discovered they charged my credit card for the first month's premium in the amount of $540.58 on 12/11 ( IEEE Insurance Plan ********* **). I wasn't provided any notice that my policy was approved or what my premimum would be prior to them charging my credit card. As soon as I noticed the amount of the premium I immediately reached out and canceled my policy as this monthly premium is not something I would have agreed to. They canceled my policy but wouldn't refund the inital premium amount. I've attempted to work with their customer service team for months but with no success. Due to the fact I was never notified that I was approved for this life insurance policy, I was never informed of the monthly premium amount and I never accepted this policy I would like a full refund of the the $540.58.

      I was charged $186.01 US Dollars plus tax on September 21, 2022, for the membership fees (IEEE and the listed councils, communities, and societies). Due to the breach of the Data Privacy Act, suspicious activities were reported to the ******************************************** and after that, the merchant attempted to ban my access to all magazines, emails, newsletters, etc. which I have been legally *********** receive without prior notice and without my knowledge, consent, and permission. Since September 29, 2023, I have tried to work with the merchant to resolve the issue which was indeed their fault, but nothing has been resolved yet. Similar to IEEE PES and the other ***** councils, communities, and societies that I have paid for, I was notified on October 21, 2023, that IEEE ************************ was issued a week before and I have never been informed about it. I have never received any magazines/emails related to such magazines in the past 6 months due to the merchant's negligence.I asked them to either send me a copy of all the emails that I have missed at the fault of the merchant employees or proceed with a refund for 6 months that my access has been illegally disabled/paused and the merchant did not respond.I also asked the merchant to figure out what the previous communication preferences before the illegal pause in my service without my permission and consent have been and the merchant did not respond.I want to first report this to Better Business Bureau (BBB), and then, file a complaint against the merchant under the Consumer Protection Act. The merchant does not seem to take the matter seriously unless a complaint against them is made.Account #: ********
