After numerous invoices for a Harpers Magazine I never ordered, it went to a collection agency ************************ who farmed it out to another collection agency ******************* Alternative (NRA) for $12.97....cheaper to just pay it than fight it? Probably, but that is probably what they all want times ****** or ******* or ********* similar cases? With my perfect credit for big $$$, I doubt if $12.97 will be any issue on my credit report.I never ordered the Magazine and therefore do not owe this debt. FDCPA ?

Attached please find the order form that ************ sent in. It clearly states on the order form that if she is not interested in continuing a subscription after receiving her first copy she just needs to mark cancel on one of the invoice and

return it in the pre paid envelope provided. NRA is not a collection agency and non payment is not reported to any credit bureau. I have cancelled the subscription. Please let me know if you need any further information.

I was offered a free issue of Harpers Magazine. I took them up on it. Didn't like it. Then I get a Bill (today 3.25.23) from a ******************* *** ********************* Never got a Bill from the Magazine. From reading Mutiple similar complaints on your BBB site - Harpers uses this method as business as usual it seems. This is a scam attempt. And they are targeting ********** seems. I'm letting my congressman know about this.

The magazine sent me an offer in November to "try" their magazine that comes monthly. I received the first issue and read it. By the time the bill came, and the next issue came, I decided I did not enjoy the format and wrote "cancel subscription" on the bill and returned the invoice. I never received another invoice and assumed it was taken care of. On February 6th 2023 I received a notice of collections from a collection agency for $12.97. It is absolutely ridiculous that a company is going to argue that they never received my cancelation notice and/or payment and send me to collections within three months. Additionally, the magazine is willing to destroy an individuals credit score of 800+ for $13! This is bad business. I never received a letter stating that if I didn't pay the $12.97 they were sending me to collections or I would have realized that I needed to call and/or send another letter. This is how people's lives are destroyed for no reason. Unacceptable and a slippery slope.

I accepted a two issue free magazine offer and was told that if I did not wish to subscribe I could simply ignore any further stuff from them. But now they are writing threatening letters with intimidating 'Past Due' statements on the envelopes. That upsets my wife. She is worried about the postal lady spreading gossip or some nonsense. They only sent me 2 letters, the 2nd arriving yesterday but they claim that they have sent six! Which is a lie. A blatant lie to intimidate me. Plus this 2nd letter is threatening dire circumstances if I don't comply. It didn't send me a court order to comply because they are scamming me. Can you please investigate this? Thank you. *************** 03/17/2022

****** Magazine made me a subscription last year, from August 2020 to august 2021, using illegaly my AMEX card number. I called them and they told me that the subscription will stop, and the money will be refunded, and I did forget about it.However, this year, a new prescription was made on my name, without my approval!, from August 2021 to August 2022!!! I do not know how they got my credit number.
