      Readers Digest was once a good company- now they are terrible. My dad keeps getting books he didnt order and opens the box because it says, Free Gift Enclosed, only to discover a book he wont ever read and a bill for it! What a scam! What happened to this once reputable company?

      ]. I would like to provide some information about the customers order and clear up any misunderstanding. We received an order for our Fiction Favorites book series on June 13, 2024.The offer stated "You'll automatically receive a new book in the series every 6-8 weeks that you'll be invoiced for at our then-current price, plus shipping and handling. You can cancel at any time by emailing **************** at ********************** or writing to us"The next book was shipped on August 1, 2024.We have cancelled billing and discontinued the book series.

      Received a bill from Penn Credit and it looks like its the biggest scam in the world. I too received a book with about 3 different books included in it. Didn't order it and donated it to a street library. I will not pay for something I did not order and no more dealing with Readers Digest for me in any way shape or form. ******

      Dear Mid-****** Dispute Services:I write in response to your letter dated August 5, 2024, regarding the complaint from *****************************. I would like to provide some information about the customers order and clear up any misunderstanding.On September 14, 2023, we received an order from the customer for a book in the Fiction Favorites book series. As stated in the offer, when ordering this book, the customer would automatically be enrolled to receive other books in the series with no obligation to buy, and the option of canceling membership at any time. We shipped the book on September 21, 2023.The next book was sent November 20, 2023.The next book was shipped January 16, 2024.We have discontinued the customers enrollment in the series and cancelled any unpaid invoices for this series. The customer *** keep the book(s) and should disregard any further invoices that *** be in process. I hope this helps clear up any misunderstanding. I apologize for any disappointment the customer *** have encountered with our company. Please contact us if we can be of further assistance. ********************* ***********************

      Absolute scam! Do not go near Readers Digest company. Ive canceled my subscription and will never gift subscriptions again.Out of the blue I get a collection notice for a book Ive NEVER received, did not order and NEVER gotten an invoice. Just a random collection notice that *** spent hours trying to untangle. STAY AWAY from Readers Digest!

      I had the exact same experience as ************** I didn't order the books. I am not paying for them!************** wrote,"I received what I thought was from Reader's Digest a free book. Now I have received a book which I am being billed for $34.95! I didn't like the free paperback I got. I didn't order and I don't want. I was looking to see if this was set up like a book club where you keep getting books. I didn't see any indication of this. I contacted them by email just now but I let them know I will not be keeping nor paying for the book."

      I received what I thought was from Reader's Digest a free book. Now I have received a book which I am being billed for $34.95! I didn't like the free paperback I got. I didn't order and I don't want. I was looking to see if this was set up like a book club where you keep getting books. I didn't see any indication of this.       A year ago I requested a subscription for a magazine called ************ ************ was discontinued several months into my subscription. Then, without requesting it or giving permission to charge my credit card, I started getting reader's digest in the mail. I NEVER wanted this magazine. IT IS A SCAM!!! I contacted TMB the first time and they refunded two charges from the subscription. I thought it was all over and taken care of. Then several months later, I got another reader's digest in the mail. I contacted TMB several times via email and explained the situation. The reply was exactly the same, no matter what I said. They are billing me for a new subscription! I let them know I contacted my credit card company and instructed them not to accept any additional charges from reader's digest. I told TMB this news, and they responded that they were working out my credit info to bill me for another subscription. Do not purchase magazines from this company. I have actually now cancelled my credit card.

      A full refund was processed on March 4, 2024. In addition, we have removed *************************** from our promotional list. The May 2024 issue will be the last issue *************************** will receive.

      I have been gifting BIRDS AND BLOOMS to my parents for years. Every year they give me a discount to renew. It's a gorgeous magazine but I think it only gets sent quarterly. Once upon a time it was monthly (20 years ago) then it went to 6 issues - but I'm pretty sure its only 3 or 4 issues per year. They are about 3.50 /issue and worth it. It would be $10 or $12 at the checkout line.

      Months ago, I purchased a subscription to receive your magazine via US Mail and wanted to know if it is still going to happen.Why does it *********** months to receive my first copy of Reader's Digest in the mail??? I can order nearly anything from Amazon and it arrives within days.Several years ago I purchased a Reader's Digest subscription and NOTHING HAPPENED. After waiting for months, I eventually forgot all about it... is that the goal??? To take people's money and deliver nothing? OR to make customers wait so long that they forget they're even supposed to receive a monthly paper copy of your magazine?BOTTOM LINE... WHY THE DELAY?AND WHEN CAN I EXPECT MY FIRST COPY OF READER'S DIGEST TO ARRIVE IN MY U.S. POSTAL MAILBOX?

      I saw an ad for Birds and *************** on ******** for a $7 and subscribed. I don't know if it will come or not as it's only been two weeks, but ************** from Birds and Blooms for $10 today. So I checked Paypal, and it showed back to back payments of $7.56. I am sure I did not pay twice! Now not sure it will be coming or, after reading these comments, I will get a book I did not order!
