This issues involves not following the stated return policy and I have tried to resolve it with the company and come to no resolution after over 2 weeks of back and forth emailing. My mother bought a pair of their shoes as a gift in store. I would like a different color. Their website states a no questions asked return policy and states you only need an order number for a gift exchange if you got one. Given this wording, it would be obvious to any consumer that one could change out a gift for the same product in a different color and/or credit with the store. Despite this wording on the site they refuse to allow a gift return without an order number. The gift purchaser, my mother, is an elderly woman and would not have purchased their product if not for the deceptive practices of Allbirds in the wording of their return policy. As an elderly person, she is very wary of giving her email and phone number to a store given that elderly are especially at risk for scams. She did not give her information to Allbirds and was not made aware this would not allow a gift return to be made. There should be an option in stores to be able to make a purchase without giving away your personal information and being a target for ads. She essentially was tricked into voiding the return by not allowing Allbirds to send her promotional emails and texts. This was not made clear to her. I cannot believe a company which so strongly touts its ethics is engaging in this anti-consumer behavior.Customer response

Order #********** Placed on June 30, 2023 with Shoprunner two-day shipping Purchased one pair of size 9 Men's Golf Dashers in Natural Black I should have received my purchase by July 3rd. I was patient because maybe things got delayed with people on vacation for the holiday. I should have at least received my order by July 6th. I reached out to Allbirds yesterday, July 8th and asked about my order. A shipping label was created on July 2nd. The representative put me on hold for a really long time and somehow "lost" the connection. When I tried to contact a representative again I was told they had to send a message to the warehouse and someone would email me about my order. I just received an email today and the representative said my order got delayed and they apologized for the inconvenience but have now hit a roadblock as the shoes I ordered in size 9 are now out of stock. These were meant to be a gift for someone and I am ******. They said they could offer me an alternative pair in Natural White. The whole purpose of me buying the ones I did was because they were black. Offering a completely different color is not a fair alternative in my eyes. I should be offered the first pair of 9s that get restocked. And it would be good customer service to compensate me for the inconvenience by offering a discount of the original purchase price for the delay, because who knows when they will be restocked.Customer response

I am writing this complaint in regards to an ongoing issue with poor workmanship and quality issues with allbirds shoes. I had purchased an original pair of allbirds back in early 2022. I had requested a refund outside of their return policy and an exception was not granted. I proceeded to use the shoe reluctantly even though the quality seemed very poor. The shoe fell apart within months and I had requested a warranty replacement since the grommets that hold the laces had broken off and the laces would keep coming loose. After much back and forth, they reluctantly decided to offer a replacement in December 2022. After less than 4 months, the same quality concerns surfaced. The shoe has fallen apart and I have attached pictures for proof. I am not an avid runner, I have used this shoe for the last 4 months as my daily shoe, and do not believe there should be this much damage. I believe the quality of the shoe is very poor and at this time I ask for a full refund of the purchase price or a different shoe that will be of the quality I expect when I spend the premium to purchase an allbird pair of shoes.Customer response

I purchased shoes that were completely worn down and unusable after 2 months of casual use. A **** ******** told me this is common, and when I asked her why they couldnt offer a guarantee, she abruptly said Im not going to argue with you, and hung up the phone. What company 1.) offers such poor customer service 2.) knowingly sells shoes that break down rapidly? Especially when your brand advertises as eco-friendly, you should honor returns for faulty products that are broken within a month of use.Customer response

Purchased shoes; quickly developed hold. Retailer exchanged them again, but am having the same issue. I tried to leave a review reporting this issue, and it never got posted. I tried again, and it never got posted. I emailed them to ask if I could not leave a review about this, and they did not address the question. This appears to be a chronic issue well reported on other websites. Unfortunately, they might not be letting all reviews through on their site.Customer response

I purchased shoes on 1/30 online, at which time card was charged..delivery was promised 2/3..this was postponed to 2/4..I was notified by text that package was delivered at 1:20PM on 2/4..I was sitting right next to my door and opened it, and there was no package..I contacted JV at Allbirds at 2PM..s/he said that ***** sometimes fraudulently enters the delivery time into their automated system, then delivers the package a day or 2 later..so he asked me to wait 2 days..on 2/7, I contacted Allbirds again, asking for resolution..they said they'd create a replacement order..they have not and they have stopped communicating...
