I was contacted to pay a membership fee. But I AM NOT A MEMBER. This is abusive and annoying. I have NEVER been a member of the "Pug Meetup Group." I want them to stop harassing me.

Ive been trying to solve a glitch on my mobile meetup app, both on my own, and also through their (not so good) customer support (terrible) process for some time now. After multiple frustrating attempts at trying to get meetup to show me as a meetup plus subscriber, for a subscription I paid for and supposedly ran through March 2026, I eventually caved and paid a second $85 fee for the annual subscription. Im trying very hard to resolve with the meetup support team but its excruciating as they dont read what I write, dont solve what I ask, and repeatedly advise me to do steps Ive already done (mostly delete and reinstall app)In short, meetup has almost non existent customer service, takes a week or more to get a reply, has no customer support telephone, is double billing me.

My account was due to autorenew, an event of which I was not notified by email. I had tried cancelling the subscription earlier and deleted the group and removed my credit card from the site. I went to check on the cancellation and found buried in the morass of account information that the only way to cancel was not the way I did. I quickly cancelled prior to the charge being made that very morning. The charge of $193.31 was made to my card anyway. I first went to my credit card company who supported ************************. I feel that Meetup has deceptive business practices and would like a refund.

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a complaint regarding an unauthorized charge from Meetup on my account. On march 2, I noticed a charge from Meetup that I was not made aware of or had consented to. This charge caused my account to become overdrawn, which has placed an additional strain on my finances. I am currently facing financial hardship due to job loss, and I would never have agreed to a charge that I could not afford. The content regarding the charge was very confusing and unclear. I feel that the information about this charge was not presented in a way that would have made it obvious to me, leading to this misunderstanding. I had no intention of incurring any charges, especially ones I cannot manage, and I feel misled by Meetups communication. When I reached out to Meetup support to explain my hardship and request a refund, I was met with a cold and dismissive response, as they refused to issue a refund despite the circumstances I shared. Given my financial situation, I was hoping for more understanding and empathy, but instead, I felt ignored and unsupported.I have already filed a complaint with my bank regarding this charge, but I am seeking your assistance in mediating this issue and ensuring that Meetup resolves this matter fairly. I would appreciate your help in securing a refund, as I feel that my concerns are being disregarded.Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I hope to hear from you soon.Sincerely, ****** ******

Meetup has made canceling a subscription unnecessarily difficult. After spending a significant amount of time navigating their website and following multiple small prompts, I was finally able to locate the cancellation option. I explicitly requested that my subscription be canceled and clearly stated that I did not want to be charged $180. I believed the process was complete. However, instead of processing my cancellation, Meetup sent me an email requiring a response before they would proceed with it. Since I was not expecting any further action after submitting my request, they charged me again, and my subscription remains active. This practice is misleading and creates unnecessary hurdles for customers trying to cancel their service. I responded to the email requesting a refund and confirmation of cancellation and they have not responded yet.

I am an organizer for several meetup groups and encountered technical difficulties. Meetup suggested a work around which I did implement. Soon as I did every bit of my data disappeared from the Meetup Android App. This includes close to 20 years of groups I belong to, events I have either organized and/or attended, contacts, communications, settings, etc. Basically seeing a blank screen, what one would see after first signing up for the Meetup service. It has been almost a month now and since I brought this problem to their attention, Meetup support has not responded to a multitude of communications from me to get a response and help fixing this situation. They have no chat or phone number meaning I am without recourse.

I submitted my request to cancel Meetup Pro subscription on 12/15/24 via email per their instruction. Today, I found out that they charged $381.60 on my credit card on 02/04/25.I contacted Meetup a few times to get the refund, but I didn't get any response.

I have been a member for *************************************************************************** once, but I cancelled out after the last billing 6 months ago. . There is no phone number to call, nor an email address to write to. I cannot access the app. even though they have charged me " no correct email or password" is what I get. . So I sent a message so I could reset my password(which was not wrong) and they would not even email me to do that, At this point, I havent an access period even after the change of ****** on 2/8/2025 on my Discover Card. I would like a refund and closure of my acct.

i have contacted Meetup "help" over 8 times since the end of November 2024. At that time all my email notifications just stopped coming. There was no change to my email address and i never get push notifications. I am a member of over 10 hiking groups of which i lead two additional groups. The responses i have gotten from Meetup Help are repetitive and ignorant. They keep sending me the steps to take to receive email notifications. I have been a member of meetup for over 8 years. I also am a *** and certainly know how to set notifications--I CAN READ I think something is not working on the website or my email was turned off somehow. I need my notifications back to my email which has not changed for over 25 years. *********************
