I am writing to file a formal complaint against Rebecca Taylor, a company from which I recently purchased a dress. Unfortunately, my experience has been less than satisfactory, and it's crucial to bring this matter to your attention.I discovered a severe issue after purchasing one of their dresses. The black dye from the dress **** onto my white J. **** denim jacket when the two items were packed together for a trip, causing irreparable damage. Seeking a resolution, I contacted Rebecca Taylor's customer service, only to be met with a refusal to reimburse me for the ruined jacket ($138)This denial of responsibility and the lack of effort to rectify the situation exemplify poor customer service standards. As a consumer, I find this experience unacceptable, and it raises concerns about the quality and accountability associated with the Rebecca Taylor ******* kindly request the Better Business Bureau's assistance in mediating this matter and ensuring a fair resolution. Thank you for your attention to this complaint.Initial Complaint

This is Rebecca Taylor's return policy for online returns as recently as today, 10/24/21: "For your convenience, items purchased from ***************** may also be returned to any of our Rebecca Taylor boutiques when accompanied by the original receipt."Every time I go to the downtown *** store, there are problems returning my orders. Sometimes my order doesn't show up on the system. Other times I can't be given a refund. Now the latest story is they can't return Afterpay orders in store, even though I had an Afterpay return very recently. If I pay through Afterpay, they refund the card I paid with on Afterpay, and I have to end up paying Afterpay from my card.To add insult to injury, the blonde woman ****** at the West Village store was exceptionally rude to me, got real testy as I tried to ask her if she can return items by looking up my order number, and she said no, which is nuts. When I told her I made a return on an afterpay item recently, she rolled her eyes. She also strikes me as incompetent and not very bright. She then got the manager also named ****** on the phone, and it sounds like there was some trash talking going on. (For the record I'd never met blonde ****** before.)I definitely get the impression from the attitude of your sales folks that you don't like me making returns in store. Or maybe you just don't like women of color. I'm not treated as well as your other customers, and there's a sense of "here she comes again". I don't have to give you any of my money if you're going to be like that.So I called the **** number to get a mailing label and also sent an email to them on Friday. Based on the past it will take 3 weeks for me to get my money back, which is unacceptable. I have never been given such a run around for simple returns, and have never been treated this way for making returns in store. I'm always polite to your staff as I work retail too and know what it's like, but I'm kind of sick of playing nice when I'm treated so poorly.Customer response

I ordered a blouse in early September for around $119.00. I did not realize it was a final sale. When I followed up with Rebecca Taylor, they told me it could not be returned that it was a final sale. I said that is fine, please return it. Since then, I have sent multiple emails and have no resolution.Customer response
