Over the summer of 2022 I enrolled for an *** course that was supposed to start August 29 and end October 12. I enrolled so I could get certified and start working so I'd be making more money to save for college and so that I would be getting my foot in the door in the medical field since that is where I'll be going after college. On August 29 I showed up to the class and I was the only person there, I asked around the building if anyone knew where I was supposed to be since the office door was locked and there was no one to be seen, I called the office to figure out what was going on and there was no response after a few calls so I just left a message. When the class was postponed that first time it was because "there weren't enough students enrolled" and set to start September 4 and end Nov 9. It was postponed again after that to dates I don't have saved. I don't even know the reason for postponing the second time. It was then postponed AGAIN for December 4th-February 8th. At this point I was getting frustrated because I enrolled so that I could take the class and leave my job where I had to call the police 5 times in less than a year and to get some medical experience like I said but time was also of essence! This has been going on for half a year now! I ended up leaving my job anyways and finding a better one. December 1st the woman I gave my deposit to gives me a call to tell me "yes Dec 4 the class is happening" and I'm thinking yes finally! I already took time off of my new job for this ************* finally starting- and then guess what. December 4th I'm at work and I get a phone call. The class was postponed again and now starting in January and going until February. so I don't have any reason to take the *** course at this point so I requested a refund and it took 2 weeks and 4 emails to hear anything back from them. And the woman was being so rude both over the phone and over email once I had said I just wanted my $750 deposit back. That was my experience

My daughter registered with this training center to take a certified nursing assistant class and the business collected $850.00 deposit from. We gave them a check on the July 7th 2023 and they cashed it on July 13th 2023. The class was supposed to be started on July 24th 2023. The business called to change the starting date stating that they had Air condition problem . The new date given was August 7th at 5pm. My daughter drove for 45 minutes to get to the venue for the class but she was unable to enter the class because the door was locked. She called their phone number more than 10 times but there was no response. She sent them ANM email and there was no response. I called them severally myself and left a message but up till today there is no response.

On Friday, May 19, 2023, I had put an $800 deposit for a phlebotomy course at the Hudson Valley Career Training school. Realizing the course would interfere with my work schedule, I contacted ******** on 5/24/2023 (the administrator at the school) asking what the process was to get my deposit back since I will not participate in the program. ******** told me I need to email her a statement canceling my application and requesting my $800 deposit and that it would take up to 30 days to get my deposit. I sent the email right after I got off the phone with ********. The email was sent out 5/24/2023, which I have in my sent messages on my email. I waited for the 30 days and didnt hear back. Its now July, 7 (after 30 days) and I have yet to hear back. *** called numerous times but Im always told the owners havent gotten back to me. Ive waited patiently and waited over the 30 days. I would just like my deposit back right away.

Hello ***** I want yo get back to inregards to your refund. Yes.  ******* had told you it can take up to 30 to receive the refund. But it can unfortunately we have to wait from the state to get back to us. As to why the potential student had backed out of the class.once we receive back from the state than we can refund your payment. I would think we should receive the response from them by the end of next week. We are sorry for the delay but we don't have control over that. ******* will call you next Wednesday to give you the day to pickup your refund. Sorry for the inconvenience.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

      [Your Answer Here]

I received a phone call from ******** today (7/7) and she stated that by this coming Monday, July 10 she would have my refund and that I would be able to come pick it up on my only day available Wednesday, 7/12. I refuse to wait until the end of next week, as I will be away. This manner has been handled unprofessionally. It was never communicated to me that the owners would be away last week, nor did I receive communication about that state being involved and how the are involved in the process. I feel as though my money has been stolen, and I work very hard for my money. Your response is unacceptable. I want my deposit back by Wednesday July 12.
