Lazy, Sloppy, Destructive, Not Worth the Money **** is far from a professional or experienced. He did show up with the proper tools and gear to paint our newly renovated bathroom, living area and office. However, he left a mess. Our newly installed floor was splattered with paint drops and paint foot prints (despite drop cloths). We spent hours cleaning up after his mess. He left areas of trim unpainted and refused to paint the entryway to the newly renovated space despite agreeing to in the consultation and price quote. We wound up painting it ourselves and he accused us of using his paint (that would be the paint we paid for within his fee). He cleaned his paintbrushes in our brand-new bathroom, only to leave paint drippings on the new sink, faucet and toilet. He damaged the sink top and tried to hide it by dropping paint onto the chip of porcelain that was chipped out. The job took 4 days longer than anticipated, but while he was on the job, he requested our Wi-Fi login so that he could log into his other job. I would have paid double to get a professional and experienced painter. If there was a ZERO star rating, I would select that. One star rating is too generous.

Day One Custom Painting & Renovations Response

    08/22/2022

The entry room leading to the 3 rooms that were in proposal, was not included in job .The customer got mad when I questioned why they would pour paint from my cans into theirs to paint that part of project. Pictures were taken each night and there was no paint on the floors. The wi -fi password was requested so we could play music while we worked. Not sure why they would say to work at another job. Does not make sense. The customer had another contractor there while we worked, before we worked and a few days after we finished job. That contractor wore a big tool belt and made many frequent trips to the bathroom with the tool belt on in the tiny bathroom. The customer is trying to ruin my reputation, six or more months later because they are are mad we went to court over the chip in sink and I won the court case in the **** OF ******** COURT with Judge ******* ********. I even offered to take a polygraph test and they declined.. This is a clear case of the customer trying to get extra work, paint and extra room done at the expense of the contractor and getting mad when I fought back.

    Customer Response

In response to painters comment on 8/22 to my review on 8/8 Id like to respond with the following:We are not looking for anything extra we were just looking for a good, competent, quality job. Not trying to ruin your reputation, just want to prevent any other potential customers from going through the same headache. Please note that:The court judgement was in the painters favor based on the fact that we had only provided one estimate for replacement as opposed to three. Judgement was not based on whether painter caused or did not cause the damage.Contractors did not have access to paint therefore unable to apply the paint to the chip to try to hide it We've known the contractors for many years and know they are trustworthy.Contractors did not use heavy tool belts. There was minimal overlap of having contractors and painter at the residence at the same time therefore the chip had to occur when painter was there and had the only access to the paint.Regarding usage of WiFi- Painter mentioned he needed password for WiFi to connect to his job at *** also bragged about how in demand his job knowledge was for that industry. We overheard work-related phone call.We used his paint cans to take pictures of the paint formula so that we could purchase our own to paint the entryway. But in reality the paint was included in the $3,000 fee he charged us and therefore the paint was not HIS.Contractors were present when painter came to provide estimate and confirmed that the entryway room was discussed as part of the project Regarding pictures the painter may have conveniently missed taking pictures of his paint footprints or the areas that were missing paint. Did not contact painter after all of this was discovered because we didnt want him back in the house nor did we want to deal with him any longer. Were glad to be done with him!
