I would avoid this this business like the plague if you are looking to get an older ***** / ****** bike serviced. I called Gerard originally to see if he specialized on these types of bikes which originally assured me he owned a very similar bike to the bike that I was requesting service on and he could start working on the bike the following week. I proceeded to drop my bike off describing the issues I was having (even left parts off the bike to make it easier for him to get to this issue which he later charged me for reinstalling these parts on the non working bike). After dropping the bike off it took the mechanic over 3 weeks to even touch the bike and I was told 2 other issues needed to be fixed on the bike before the original issue could be addressed (he stated carbs needed to be rebuilt and starter barring needed to be fixed). I agreed to this after Gerard quoted me on what the job would cost (he later told me he quoted me incorrectly and requoted me $500+ higher) . After several more weeks Gerard emailed me that he would not be able to fix the issue and I needed to take the bike elsewhere which was extremely frustrating. After inquiring what actual work had been done on the bike for the service I was being charged, Gerard told me that he was actually much deeper in labor and I should be happy this was all he was charging me. Trying to cut my losses and just pick the bike up, I called Gerard to tell him after I had paid him in full (before he even worked on the bike) that I would be picking the bike up later that day. He stated he would leave the bike outside the shop as I would be picking the bike up after hours. After lining up a trailer, I completely wasted my afternoon after pulling up to the shop and finding out Gerard had forgot to pull the bike out after leaving for the day. I tried calling Gerard and even reaching out to him on his ******** page as I had just driven a trailer across WNY to pick up my property. No Response from him that night, did notBusiness response

BBB spoke to Gerard at business and the following was relayed: The customer has picked up the bike. We found additional issues, the bike was leaking gas and we told the customer it would cost $100 plus parts to rebuild each of the 4 carburetors. He did not want to have it done, he was not charged for the work that we did do.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Please see invoice for work charged to me. I also have a paper copy of this. This is a complete lie and I was charged for no work done to my motorcycle. Regards, ****** *****Initial Complaint

Business owner Gerard A, agreed to repair and sell my motorcycle. He sold my motorcycle for $1500. I agreed to pay him $300 for the sale and collect the remaining $1200. After selling the motorcycle he refused to pay me anything, claiming the money was stolen from his personal vehicle, where he left it overnight. He then claimed he would pay me the money as he earned it back. Over the course of the last 3 months has refused to pay back a single dollar. I am now out a motorcycle and all of the money. He now tells me the only way I will ever see a dollar of my money is if I take him to court. This is not the practice of an A+ rated business. I would like my $1200 and for this business status to be reduced from A+ so other consumers do not fall victim to Mr. A lies.Business response

He was offered in store credit and refused. The Shop vehicle was robbed and a GPS **** ****** and Cellphone were taken as well. The crime was reported to Buffalo Police but unfortunately these matters are rarely resolved. He also paid in cash and refused to pay sales tax. We can adjust his invoice to the proper amount including the proper billing rate of $175 per add the tax and 6 months of storage at $25 per day for both his machines that sat here to figure out what his balance due is and go from there. . Let me know.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Everything in this response from the business owner is false. I paid full price for service to my 2 motorcycles which were paid in full and I have receipts that indicate as much. I don't know anything about any discount I recieved. I was told by Gerard that since he was selling my motorcycles that he would store them at his facility while they were up for sale at no cost as part of the selling process. Neither bike was even at his facility for close to 6 months. One was brought in July, put up for sale, never sold and was collected by me in the beginning of November, after Gerard refused to give me the money he collected for selling my other bike. The other bike was brought to his shop in August, put up for sale and sold the first week of October. That's the bike he never gave me the money for. I was never offered any kind of store credit at any time. Nor would I want store credit... as I no longer own motorcycles and would never trust Gerard to work on any of my property. As I stated in my complaint, I'm sure this business has no plan to ever pay me the money I'm owed. I have very little hope of ever seeing a penny. My main goal is to alert other consumers to the dishonest business practices of this company so no one else falls victim to the lies.
It's disappointing that after assuring me that he was "a man of his word" and that he would pay me back without my having to turn this into a legal matter, that has not turned out to be the case. Even if I were given discounts or made offers, which I assure you I was not, I'm not sure how changing the terms of an agreement after the fact is an indication of good business practices.
I don't fault the business for attempting to defend itself against what took place. I understand it might be difficult for a business to come up with an additional $1200 if they were robbed, but that doesn't give the business the option of changing an agreement or in this case, completely reneging on a transaction. It's unfair, untrustworthy and poor practice. Everything the business has claimed in it's response to my complaint is untrue. Including the fact that a police report was filed. It's very easy to look that up. Gerard told me multiple times that he did not file a report. He also told a Niagara County Sheriff that he did not file a report.
