I have been paying my quarterly water bill on time for 24 years, bill has always ranged from $70 to $120. I received a bill from Oct-Dec 2023 for over $900. I called and ****** said I must have a runny toilet-NO I do not. Then she proceeds to say they havent charged me for water in over a year but confirms Ive paid my quarterly bills and didnt know why its so much. A supervisor named **** calls me back & said the meter reader didnt have access to my meter? I said its 2 feet from the street, what are you talking about? He places me on hold & upon return said he apologizes but it looks like an error on their end, meter was being read but the representatives in office havent been keying the consumption portion in correctly- I said this is nothing but LIES- your telling me 8 meter readings and ALL wrong? I said this is your error, not mine- Ill pay what I used the past 3 months but no way am I paying for something you did wrong. He said he could do an adjustment of $200 based on water rates in 2022- I said this is completely unacceptable, squash your 2 years of mis-keying, you cannot backdate a charge I had no control in. SCWA made an error, not me. You shouldve notify the homeowner and advise this is the correct bill moving forward.
