      Proactive home services installed a gas boiler and gas water heater for me. I switched from oil to gas heat. I already had a gas line in my house. After the conversion my pipes banged and clanged incredibly loudly. They did return once in an attempt to address the problem but were unsuccessful. They didnt even listen to where we said the banging was coming from, which we had recorded. Additionally the new boiler shut off twice during a 3 month period. They had warrantied service on this boiler for 1 year. I called them 6 times over a 3 month period and received no reply. Finally I told the company that I was going to have the system repaired by a competent plumber and would like them to reimburse me. The owner called back within 5 minutes and said that he would come over and fix the problem ( finally). He was quite aggressive and argumentative though and I told him that I didnt want him back in my house. He did admit not returning a few phone calls . Additionally he told me that he would submit the rebate paperwork with National Grid for me. When I inquired about the rebate, he said that I didnt call National Grid for 2 months ( not true) and that the program expired and I was no longer eligible for a rebate. The cost of repairs to fix the system was 1000 dollars and the missed rebates were approximately 800 dollars. I would like this company to reimburse me

      This company is awful. Stay away!I used this company to convert to a gas boiler. The first problem was that the owner tried to do the job without getting a permit. When we insisted, the job was delayed. The actual installation of the boiler was ok. But immediately afterwards we started getting extremely loud banging in our pipes which we even recorded. They came back once to address the problem but didnt listen to our recording or where we told him the banging was coming from. Needless to say the situation was not fixed. Additionally the brand new boiler shut off twice in three months We called Proactive 6 additional times and each call was not returned even though the secretary said that the owner would call me right back.I then hired a competent ******* who told me that though it was a good boiler it wasnt designed for a two zone heating system of both steam and hot water. The competent plumber fixed everything by adding a return system for the hot water and also had to change the aquastat which was the incorrect one. The work cost 1000 dollars for which ProActive has refused to reimburse me for even though they warrantied the boiler for one year They also told me that they would submit all the paperwork for my rebate. After several months I reached out to the office and finally received a call from the owner who claimed that I didnt give them some information and that the rebate had expired. ALL UNTRUE. Luckily I was able to navigate the rebate situation with the gas company even though there was no model number on my boiler ( very strange).In closing please do yourself a favor and never use Proactive Home Services

      What you are saying is not accurate at all. We responded on two occasions to your complaint about a noise although both times when we came to the house we were unable to replicate the sound. When you called again about the sound i didn't call you back right way and when i finally did get back to you 5 days later you were so irate about me not calling sooner that you refused to let me back into the house so I was not able to help you. All of the phone calls that come in and out of the office are recorded. I have gone back and listen to them and also have checked the times and dates of your calls to me and my calls to you.
