My wife and I are continuously trying to establish a payment plan with the billing department at Olean General. We are forced to call every month due to the fact the billing department sends our bill to collections after repeatedly informing us that they won’t. My wife set up a payment plan at which monthly payments would be deducted from our HSA account monthly. They still send it to collections. Then on the recent call they informed us that they were unable to bring it out of collections due to how many times they and redacted the bill. My wife and I have done our due diligence on paying our medical bill and have proof of phone calls and people who we spoke to regarding this matter. This is a clear and utter mishap performed my Olean billing department. No patient should have to monitor and hope that Oleans billing dept will do their job or provide their department with the necessary software to maintain a customer/business relationship. As a result of this unethical and immoral act conducted by Olean Generals billing department. This potentially will affect my wife’s credit report and score.Business response

This patient account moved to collections due to a system error. I have closed the account with the collection agency, re-opened the balance with the early out company that sends our patient statements, and renewed the payment plan for the patient. I have spoken with the patient as well to update her on the status of her account. She is satisfied with the outcome.Customer response

I have been attempting to resolve the attached bill for months. My insurance company has stated that it has never been submitted to them. I have been in contact with the hospital and my insurance company, including multiple calls with myself and both parties on the same call. The insurance company has told me and the hospital that the bill needs to be submitted and I still continue to get billing statements from the hospital that have not been submitted/billed to my insurance.Business response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 17747112, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I am willing to speak directly with the business to resolve this matter. I was contacted at a time that I was unfortunately unable to answer their initial contact and have returned their call, but have not had a chance to speak directly with someone. I would like to leave this complaint open until I have at least gotten the opportunity to speak with the individual that had contacted me.
