I hired Techman Electrical Service to check a line for me as I was concerned about how my tenant blew a fuse and the electrical plug was burnt. I replaced the plug but wanted it check as it worked but I wanted the line checked. i found Techmans number from a list that my town puts out on a .pdf file as certified electricians for the township. He agreed to stop by my house on 4/11 after telling me the whole charge would be $280.00 for 1 and a half hours work. I said it shouldn't take that long but he said it would. He examined the plug that I had re installed after the initial plug burnt and was concerned needed a pig tail on the two lines to make a circuit and checked the line. He then went into the basement to the circuit box and with me upstairs we checked the amps of the various kitchen devices using a cell phone to communicate. While he was downstairs I told my tenets not to store paint thinner near the stove as they had a can within 2 feet of the stove, to not use erasable marker pens on the refrigerator that was brand new 3 month old, that has a dent in it from them and to finish a painting job that i had paid them for and they become upset with me. He then came upstairs and encountered a slight disagreement between me and the tenets and suggested we get some boxing gloves and box it out? Not very professional to state this while he is being paid to correct a problem. I didn't respond when he specifically said my name, "Barbara do you want a pair of boxing gloves to box them?" He then finally wrapped up the job at 1 hour and a half as we were standing in the parking lot he said 280.00 cash means no tax but if he had to do paperwork there would be tax on the bill. I said I needed the paperwork and the bill and that I would pay by check. I called him May 11th requesting a bill by mail. he sent this $415.43 bill on 5/20/2022 I will pay the 280.00 plus tax May 20th I recieved his bill in the mail and he is suddenly charging me 415.43
