On July 15th,2022, while camping at Cheerful Valley, I went into office and made a reservation to return for a month long stay from Friday Aug 12th through Sept 12, 2022. The price given me was $970.00. I offered to pay with my debit card and was asked if I could return with a check instead and I did. On July 19th, while at home I fell and injured myself at home. My camper was still at Cheerful Valley at this time. I returned to pick up my camper on July 24th which was the end of my first stay. I verified with Michelle in the office that if I needed to cancel my stay in August that as long as I gave them one weeks notice I would be entitled to a refund of what I had paid minus one night's stay per their cancelation policy. On August 4th, 2022 I called Cheerful Valley campground and talked to Michell and informed her that I needed to cancel as I had to have surgery, She told me she would have to let the manager, Sheila, know and they would get back to me. On August 22,2022 I again called and this time I talked to Sheila and she told me she needed to get the information from Michell and relay to owner and she would get back to me .On August 30th I again called and talked to Michelle, she was surprised it had not been taken care of yet and said she would mention it to Sheila again. On Sept 1st, I called and Michell answered and told me it was up to the owner of the campground. When I asked for his name I was told only that I could reach the owner's assistant, Mike, at **** ***** Campground , I called there and left a message with Martha. On Sept 8th, I again called **** ***** campground and got an answering machine and left a message for Mike, I have never received ANY call backs or corespondance from them. I filed a complaint with the NY Attorney Generals office on Sept 17th, 2022. They attempted to contact Cheerful Valley but on Nov 30th, I received a notice that despite repeated efforts Cheerful Valley had failed to respond and they could not assist me any further.
