I checked into the super 8 hotel in Plattsburgh, Ny with the intention of staying three nights. The hotel room (Room 102) had countless flaws, was very dirty and was nothing like the pictures advertised on their website. The bathroom seemed like it was under construction with drywall mud patches behind the toilet, the shower was discolored with fixtures that were failing apart. In the living area the appliances and surfaces were greasy and unclean. The mattresses were covered in staines with a heavy smell of bleach. Our skin was very itchy after sleeping in the beds for just one night. There was a window that did not fully lock, the window was very dirty and covered in bird poop. The AC unit was very outdated and put out an unpleasant odor. The television was not programmed properly and was very hard to use. The room was not at all as advertised. After confronting the staff with the issues we were told they could show us better “more good” rooms and when asked why we were not given a good room to begin with the staff blamed it on limited rooms although the hotel was very slow when we checked in. They refused to refund us for the remaining two nights as we no longer wanted to stay in their establishment. Attached are pictures and bank statements from our stay.

I paid 93.90 thru ************* online for a room a super 8 in Plattsburgh NY. I arrived with a reservation confirmation around 10:30pm on April 17 2023. I was refused a room and told I needed to pay $200 more for my room. I have contacted Whyndam Hotels, ************* and Super 8 regarding the situation. ************* emailed and attempted to contact the hotel manager for almost a week and I myself tried to contact the hotel without ever having someone answer the phone. ************* emailed and informed today that I was denied a refund and was forced to pay full cancellation fees even tho I did not cancel my stay I was refused a room and me, my 3 children and my ESA dog had to sleep in my car along with them basically just taking my money without providing any service to me. I just don’t feel this is in any way an acceptable way to treat a customer and I feel I’ve been robbed.

On September 27th, I booked a room at the Super 8 in Plattsburgh NY in advance through ********* for 3 nights, Sept 27-30. When I arrived, I was greeted by a gentleman who began the check in process. He asked how many people, I replied, I was alone but my partner would be meeting me there a bit later and my Dog. Before I could finish, the attendant told me that the hotel does not allow dogs. I informed him that she is a service dog in training but he went on to explain that the hotel did not have proper accommodations for dogs, and then walked me out the front door to show me where next to the entrance there was a sign that said no dogs allowed. Guessing that he was not aware of both federal and state laws, I let him know that both service dogs in training and fully trained service Dogs are both allowed to accompany their handlers in public places, including hotels in the state of Vermont, and in New York. He apologized and explain to me that he could not check me into the hotel and explained that he did not have the authority to refund my $295.44 himself but that he was sure it would not be a problem with his manager, who would be on his way in a couple of hours. I left in search of another hotel in the area. Later in the morning, I contacted the hotel to speak with the manager, and was told that he was not there, but would be in in a couple of hours, I asked the attendant to please ask the manager to call me. I did not hear back from the manager that day so I called again the next day, I was told the exact same thing. The person that answered the phone asked what it was that I needed and I explain the situation from the night before. This time, I was told that the hotel absolutely does allow service dogs and if I could provide a copy of a registration certificate, they would be happy to re-book the three nights I had paid for. Requesting such as unlawful. After 3 months of calling, I can not reach the manager and have not received a return phone call.
